| Halo is a good game, however it gets its "hype" from people who never played quake/CS or any good FPS online. |

halo got its hype from 1999 when bungie (who was not part of microsoft) made a 10 min 160MB E3 trailer which showed the game off on the pc, it had parts of the game play that were unheard of in the gamming industry driving cars and 2 coinsiding stories (something of which we would never see again in a FPS till half-life opposing force). thats what made halo a legend in the gamming industry.
now that all went down hill when microsoft bought out bungie and said that they would cease production on pc halo untill a year after xbox halo was released and in the mean time they buchered the pc halo to make it work on the xbox, and in doing the said converstion of platforms bungie had to remove a ton of new unseen gamming elements, and then the buchered the xbox halo even more to make a port to the pc halo.
so thats basicly how halo got its popularity and also why halo is now just another console port FPS
and just for the record microsoft/ bungie are making a port of halo 2 to the pc due out in 2007. |
