Hey all!
A friend got side-swiped on whitemud today by a speeding silver import car. She's fine, but the worthless pile of scum never stopped. Just curious if anyone heard anything. Piece of shit like that doesn't deseve to be on the road!!!! :angry: |

You know in a case like that... why not just accidentally put up a new letter of the plate in each post... hahaha then when we see the person we'll hold em down until you get there and collect on the damage inccurred to you friends ride! |

I second that. File a police report as well and give them as much info as you possible can. My buddies car had a hit and run done to it recently. A witness caught the license plate number. Now the fool isn't anwering their phone. So this person's insurance company isn't paying up to get his car fixed. All the while his insurance company is doing jack shit to sort it out. That's what "full coverage" is for. They're paid the extra to take care of crap like that.
I hope you are able to find the shithead that did it. I've come out to my car a number of times to find damage to it. Pisses me off royally :angry: |

if the damage is OVER $1000 an honest repair shop CAN NOT touch teh car unless it has a collision sticker on placed on it and signed by the police.........
I agree with the about statements....File a police report and give as much info as possible!!!

Problem with that though Steve a lot of shops are dishonest I won't name any names but even some EXTREMELY reputable ones are dirty and do dwi repairs for ppl who have the money if you catch my drift. Obviously mitsuman doesn't know the car otherwise he woulda posted what it was and this girl was stressed/horrified that it happened she was lucky to catch the "Y" on the license plate even and no offence but not a lot of girls know cars. For all she knows it could've been a Tiburyon to a Celica to a Protege :( good luck in finding it and I'll keep my eye open in my travels :) |

The stupid thing is, the police can't really do much even if you do find the perp.
Unless you have some sort of video evidence of THAT car doing THAT damage to YOUR car. |

| I dont know about that last statement you made Andy. The cops do have collision analysts in the traffic department that (if not too lazy or overworked) can match up the damage pretty good by height maching, damage pattern and paint transfer marks. The paint found on each vehicle can be sent to a lab to confirm a match. If the cops wont do it, the insurance company might hire a firm like ours to do it for them. That is of course if you find the person or car in the first place. |

| See the thing is she doesn't have to prove that he hit her. the other driver must prove he didn't hit her and with the ride height, paint, scratches, etc. they can nail em. Just don't back down and become a pest and the cops will want to get you outta their hair, phone everyday with more information and that sort of thing. It would help if she saw the person, male/female, age, race, hair color, that sort of thing. Most people think they can go through the dmv database of all of Alberta typing in the keyword "silver" or putting in "Y" for the first letter of a license plate.. for some reason their system doesn't work like that. Imagine if you got swiped by a Yellow Sunbird Convertible with the plate "GFT ???" and they could type in the make, model and color of car along with the license plate letters, and could actually bring up a list.. that would be a major asset to the police and insurance companies.. I smell some software programming coming :D |

That makes me mad. :angry: . What kind of a person does that? You have to have no morals to hit somebody and drive away without even knowing if they are hurt or maybe worse. I have had this happen to friends and family numerous times (when the cars were parked, which is awful enough) but somebody who does something like that is a horrible person. I hope that they get whats coming to them and then some. :angry:

PLease fill these in and I will edit my post.........
A suggestion.....if it is somewhere that has lots of traffic make a sign and ask for anyone who witnessed the collision/hit and run to phone you with any information.....
