Damnit! I thought it would have taken longer to guess that. Louren gets a cookie. Here's a pic of this beast in action.

I was quite surprised when I saw it. Made me do a double take.

I say he gets the cookie, unless spelling counts. It's an Oldsmobile Toronado.

Its a contraption they use to move the planes out to the runway.

That de Havilland doesn't look like it's on amphib floats, but straight aquatic floats... does the car lift it off the ground to move it?

It has a mechanism that swings up and lifts the float plane. I've seen something like this backwoods unit where they dry store them in the winter. Check out the pic:

gab
mabey it lifts the plane on floats and gets it up to speed along the runway then when it's goin fast enough it just lifts from the platform................ thats something i am going to invent if i am wrong!!!

S2KPWR
you'd have to sycronize the engines on the plane with the speed that the car is moving. But i think it would be possible.

Dont some floats have wheels in them anyways?

Some do, Aaron, but I see no front wheels on that plane.

Just a quirky observation...

EEDZ
well obviously the plane is magically hovering in mid air
