Killer buys and a question - Click HERE for Original Thread

fartcannon
I just got 2 killer deals off two guys on honda tech. I got a full set of unorthodox racing pullies, crank, alt, and ps. Got that deal for 140 dollars with shipping In mint condition with mint threads. really good find. I also got a set of skunk2 cam gears for 140 dollars. woot woot. good deals, saved me close 400 dollars. Now my question is when i get my timing belt changed in spring i would like to have the cam gears installed at the same time. I was told go to autozone or honda for the belt change but i know honda will never install the gears. will autozone? should i have them installed at midtown with my repair and have the timing belt installed two and then just drive to autozone after and have them check out the timing belt install to make sure it was done correctly? I will have the pullies installed at the same time if i do this at midtown

i seen those pulleys on there was gonna pick them up my self until i smashed my front end

yah accidents suck. there is another set for 250, they are polished instead of red. i wanted them more but 110 dollars for a color difference really is not worth it at all

newaccorddriver
alberta honda might do it as they put an aftermarket clutch on before, but even thats questionable. your best to call around and see who would do that sorta stuff though

fartcannon
well i am pretty sure midtown would install them, they are a really good shop and deal with alot of hondas. I think i will have them install it and then take it to have it double checked at honda or autozone. Make sure it was done properly. I know when i took my car to yellowhead honda they did not complain about my aftermarket parts at all, they were nice about it and complimented my car. Just wanted some feedback from what you guys think

midtown if you haven't been there before you should know they do charge almost as much as id you would take it to the dealer.. another place you should consider checking out is top tech auto on yellow head right by the harley davidson shop i go there for the work i cant or don't wanna do my self and they do awesome work great service

autozone is the states i thought hah. good deal on the pulleys but they dont really do a whole lot for you..more for looks then anything else. even been dyno tested with little to no result.

fartcannon
yah the pullies do little, but the crank pulley is the one that will help out. a couple of people have showed me a dyno and got some good gains out of that single pulley. The others i agree but they all come together and will look good in the engine bay :D. If midtown is that expensive than i will look else where. They just gave me a good quote on my front end and i have numerous friends who have gone there and all have had really good work done. Body work wise.

midtown quote me up the ass for body work a year or so ago..

fartcannon
really, well im sure they would have done the same for me. i just sort of cheated the shops out of all the profit and bought every single part i possibly could on my own. the last piece is the rad support that i need, which i will get in january. Besides that its just paint and minor frame damage they are charging. Some other guy gave me a good quote though named josh. got the number for the shop he works at but forgot the name of the top of my head. A bunch of people have had work there on this forum though.
