Edmonton Z Car Club - Stratotech Track Day - CANCELLED - Click HERE for Original Thread

Inzane
We have the Stratotech facility booked for Sunday, Oct 15th.

Stratotech Park

The facility is ours from ~8am thru 5pm that day.

We will be shooting for rough participation numbers of ~15-20 total.

We will have at least one, possibly two, official NABMW Club driving instructors present at this event. As well as a few others that have some level of track experience that can offer help or guidance to beginners.

The event will be run conjointly between the Edmonton Z Car Club and the Wild Rose Miata Club.

Stratotech includes event & facility insurance with the track rental, so we will not be using our club insurance for this event.
NOTE: You will NOT have coverage on your vehicle while on the track.

So far from the Z Club the following members are confirmed:
- myself (Inzane)
- Mahesh U. (MixManMash)
- Rob K. (vorpalZ)
- Jeff K. <-- event organizer
- Marty S.

In addition we have 7 confirmed from the Wild Rose Miata Club so far, as well as 2 additional "invitees".

Participation in this event will be limited to members of the two beforementioned car clubs, as well as "invitees" of either myself, Jeffrey K. or Richard D. (MX5 Miata Guy).

Rough costs:
15 people --> $100 per person
20 people --> $75 per person

Jeff will be presenting this event at the Z Club meeting tonight. He can answer some questions members may have as well as solicit more participation numbers.

Rob, if you're reading this, you're welcome to summarize some of this info to put up on our club website.

Dammit i wont be home in time. oh well there is aways the spring

Inzane
Yep, not to worry. We will have another full season of autocrosses next year, and this Stratotech date next week is an experiment of sorts. If it goes well we will certainly look at arranging more.

Not sure how this is going to play out weather wise. Long term forecast is showing the HIGH for next sunday at only ~3-4 decC.

If it really is that cold next weekend we may not run. But it won't be decided until the morning of.

MixManMash
Yeah, they are predicting snow for Calgary. Edmonton weather looks a little better. I think it might be time to change over to the winter tires on the Daily Driver.

yay! I get to drive my Z32 back in snow with dry/wet performance tires from Ericksen Nissan!:(

Latest forecast from the Weather Network for Fort Saskatchewan (right across the river from Stratotech Park) is a high of 2C with 70% chance of flurries. That's it...I'm out...as are a few others. The track will have no grip, and as such, driving around from 9 to 5 just doesn't have the same appeal anymore.

Let's try for spring? :dunno:

I agree. Unless the weather changes significantly for the better, I might be out. However, is anybody up for AWD drifting in snow? lol.
