Can I get an extension on paying a ticket? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Momentum
I got a no seatbelt ticket, and a no registration ticket.

Now i have never been in a court room before so i have no idea what to expect. I have no problem pleading guilty, i just want to go and ask for an extension, since im a poor ass high school student with no job, and dont have $350 cash laying around.

So, what are the chances of me getting an extension to pay the tickets, and possibly even a reduction? would be nice aha.

I am going to the leduc courthouse, so when i walk in, what do i do?

Wish I could help you, never been to court here. Being inexperienced in court will only help you. Just show up, walk in and ask what to do. They'll help you out.

Getting an extension is easy, you can talk to the crown first if you want to see if you can get it lowered, but when you plead guilty the Judge normally asks if you require time to pay, you say something to the effect of "Yes your honor, I am a student who is currently unemployed and I should be able to pay it off in x amount of weeks or months."

Keep in mind I believe you can make payments So like $50/week or whatever. And if you don't show up you automatically plead guilty, ad $20 or 20% which ever is more I think, and a $10 service fee(per ticket) and you can wait til you renew your registration before you have to pay it.

I've seen people get extensions for up to 2 or 3 years to pay no insurance tickets...mind you those are $2875...yours is marginally cheaper, but I don't think a 12 month extension is too much to ask. Ask, the worst they can say is no. Good luck.

I had a $25 fine and they asked me if I needed time to pay P
