As the title says.
How much is a tint ticket?
Edit:
is it 117? |

According to the little cheat sheet I got at the EPS booth at Powerama, it says a tint ticket is $115. (compared to ~$30 back in '99).
That's just a goddamn TAX if you ask me!! |

You know the rules.
You pay to play.
If it really makes you mad, write your MLA. |

A few weeks ago I replied to the sticky with a demerit schedule and schedule of fines for violations.
Para 69 of VER is $57.
Para 80(a) of TSA is $115.
So having tint, $57.
Driving with tint, $115 and maybe also the $57 if they wanna be dicks. |
|

yea It's $57 for improper window glazing...
and $115 for equipment violation...
also u can.. which i received.. a failure to comply ticket which is $172 i believe.. which they make you take the tint off... they will rip that ticket up if u get it removed and show them.. they sign it.. and you bring it to court. |

What's the deal? You don't like paying for it, don't tint.
I drove around all summer with all my windows tinted. Not one problem. |

I got pulled over 4 times this summer. Once for speeding, once for "stunting" and two others for no reasons.
Trust me, they hassle young guys. |

I'm mostly joking. Chill, and don't worry about it.
PS - I bought my Z with "limo" tint all around and went the first ~1.5 years without a ticket for it. But it eventually happened. Although it happened while I was caught in one of those alberta highway checkstops where they pulled ALL cars over and checked everything: papers, headlights, seatbelts,... TINT, etc.
I had the tint quickly removed after that. But I've always wanted to re-tint the doors ever since... just not as much (limo = 5%)... maybe 50 to 35% max. Just never got around to it. But the increasing (cough... *BS*...cough) fines for tint has definitely been a deterent. |

Tint is such a flimsy point. No matter what research is done, it always comes back inconclusive as to whether or not tinting is dangerous. Obviously, dark tint on the front windows can be, but a light tint is up in the air.
So on that note, since everyone since to feel window tint shouldn't be illegal, write your MLA. If everyone who disagreed with it wrote, I'm sure it'd be up for review. |

Yup...however, the failure to comply actually requires the officer to not be lazy and follow-up himself if you fail to show up on the specified date and show him/her/it. |

| I've gotten pulled over 4 times just for tint (I must have been sleeping at the wheel not to see the cop cars:p ) i've gotten tickets twice, warnings twice, and my windows are very dark you have to have your face right up to it to see in my car. My tickets were for $57. Every cop i've run into have been really nice except one powertrippen bitch. I've never got an exhaust ticket for my dual 4 1/2" tips. |

When I was in training my OJI told me to cut guys in fancy cars some slack. They all suffered from 2 handi-caps.
1) They were ego-challenged. Without their car, they'd be nobodies. (hehe No offence to anyone, i think he was just jealous)
2) They were rich men living in a poor man's world.
So, parking in handicapped stalls, double parking, any non-moving offence basically he just let them all go. I think the truth is, he didn't want to go court. Rich men have rich lawyers usually. And that means a wasted day to get slapped on the wrist (we always got chewed out if we had our tickets tossed in court). That, or they can afford the ticket and therefore don't care. |

I was at a police station once filing out some papers and in comes a woman terrified reporting that someone was following her and trying to cause her harm. Fearing for her life
Guess what the cop did?
"Madam, I notice the car you drove here has tinted windows. I'm gonna have to write ye a ticket for it der."
EPS disgust me. |

Are you for real?! Or is this one of those urban legends that someone started and it just propogated as a first-person story? |

Yeah, because there's no chance the cop has seen her every day that week claiming the same thing.
"Have you ever heard the story of the boy who called shitwolf Jim?"
Wild assumptions that police are morons disgust me. You don't know the whole story, stop making inferences.
I'm getting REALLY tired of this. Go work the desk and see the kinds of crazy's you meet.
Last night on the job some guy was threatening to kill 2 women, had already beat one. We called EPS, told them about it, that the men had left, here's his information. THeir response was "here's the the call-in number." No one sent on scene, nothing.
Now, someone makes the smart ass comment about useless cops.
Here's a thought. Maybe he's already in custody. Maybe they know exactly who they're looking for and where he lives. Who knows.
10 mins later we received a call that one of our guars spotted the subjects car.........surrounded by police. I bet the assholes with his smartass comments felt dumb.
My point is, don't be so quick to judge. EVERY cop, asshole and decent guy alike, is itching to bring in a dangerous offender and save a life. Wouldn't you be? They won't ignore it for no reason. |

What are you a communist trying dictate my opinions/views?
I never said all cops where bad. YOU just ASSumed it.
All I did was state what I saw that evening. And expressed my opinion. I never inferenced anything. That is my GOD DAM RiGHT.
You could be right about the sheep thing. However I doubt it. The woman looked like a decent person, and the cop was extremely rude. So I choose to give her the benefit of the doubt.
I don't know the whole story? Well here's another one. My mom went to the gas station 3 blocks from our house. It was a quick 5 min trip so all she brought was some cash and left her purse at home. This asshole cop gave her 3 tickets $180 each at the gas station because she didnt have her wallet(licenses) with her. They didnt even pull her over. And just stop while she was in the gas station. Publicly humilating her.
Maybe if they actually go arrest criminal instead of picking on harmless 55 year old ladies. Then I wouldn't be rubbed the wrong way. |

Yeah, maybe if "they"....sure sounds like you aren't labelling all cops the same way.
Communists don't try to dictate views, that'd be a dictator. Unless you're using communist the way the US did during the Cold war, which really has nothing to do with communism. I'm saying I'm getting tired of people coming to the LE forum, where the purpose is to ask and get answers on LE related things, merely to say "cops are assholes, look what one did." That's not what this part of the 780tuners forums is for. |
