we have a white one too
with a few mods, we need to take it down the 1/4 mile, we've taken it autoxcrossing, so much fun. plus it pulled away from an M5 at highway speed and continued to do so until his speed limter kicked in at 155mph
Cosworth: 1998cc DOHC 16V 4 cylinder T3 turbo 220bhp awd
they are de-tuned race cars they have been known to have 700bhp but can run all day at 500bhp in the late eighties they were the nissan skylines only compettion in Austraila. When the escort cosworth came out in 93 they ruled the WRC and such drivers as Malcolm Wilson ( who is now head of Fords Racing division) and Andy Rouse, one of the fasted BTCC drivers ever!

Well all i know is the escort cosworths are unreal , i almost bought the only Escort cosworth RS almost 2 years ago now. Unreal car, not going full details how he got the car into canada but it was a lot of work ( bought a racin shell from Germany ) anyways he sold it though and bought a Skyline r32 GTR nismo and said the nismo was better ??
Either way Cosworths are unreal and done properly they are quick little bastards |

Agreed. It's rare, so props for importing something that not many others have. But personally, it's just another ugly, fast car. There's lots of other 12 second, 15 year old cars around these days. |

Man, it's awesome to finally see a cosworth running around here.
The escort cosworth rs is my dream car and I'm looking into financing one for next year. There's a company that's selling them over in BC. They import the shells and build them from the ground up according to your spec. Really nice guys too. They build cosworth engines brand new and sell all kinds of conversion parts for the merkur to turn it into a 3-door.

| Yeah but what they don't tell you vancouver is that all the cars they "build" were insurance right-offs thats why they have escort cosworths down there. they can register them as kit cars. I myself would much rather have an original car that was built by cosworth and has not been in any accidents. If you want a real escort cosworth you will have to wait until 2009, If want any help let me know, My Dad worked at a cosworth RS ford dealer in England for 18 years during the last two years he drove their sponsered rally car to victory both years. |

Nice to see those in edmonton.! about a month ago I saw the white one at the BMW dealership on the southside , I don't know if he was turning around or lookin to buy a car, but I knew what it was the second I laid my eyes on it.!!!
2 of em though! Thats even better to see, as for cosworth! I have the Forge replica of the intercoolers the Cossie sierra's had and my headlights are the closest thing to cossie I own! |

major major fan of the cossies. They're all sick, caged beasts. I got mazda's version of an escort cossie. The awd turbo 323 gtx... not in the same class, but still fun. :thumbup:

It's always been acurate, some people just can't handle the truth. The only anomaly I have seen was with a FWD car and that was due to operator error. We tested it while the dyno thought it was in AWD mode instead of 2wd mode. That tends to inflate the #'s significantly.
The uncorrected WHP #'s a car generates on our dyno will be backed up by your trap speed at the track with a decent driver without fail. |

umm it wasn't my car it was my Dads car the modified one of the two. It seems that you are unfamiler with power to weight ratio.(think about how much a M5 weighs) a cosworth is 2700lbs I don't care that you don't believe me, I know it happened and he knows it happened, he pulled over to the side of the road to ask us about the car. Needless to say he was very impressed

Yeah... The 2003 m5 had 400hp (not much more than the modded cossie claims) and weighs more than 4000lbs. Not only that but they come with much longer gearing so a run to 155 can be had fairly easy in this case. |
