Oil Rig hookups? - Click HERE for Original Thread

entelijint
Well... i'm not quite sure if this is alright to post, but figured to give it a shot anyways.
I'm fresh out of the prairies and heard about 780tuners from a local here with a gtir, so i came to check it out. my baby is parked for the winter so i'm not here on car related issues, but more so of work.
From what I've heard, a lot of people are saying "it's not what you know, but who you know" is more true about oil rigs than most other jobs. well... I dont know anybody working rigs and want to get on. Most places aren't hiring right now due to the weather, but figured to ask on here to see if anybody has an "in".

any info or help from people who are either currently or have done it?

wow... what a pathetic intro... begging for a job

edit: see my second post for the money part

did that... drove out with about 20 to nisku, 10 to red deer, 20 or so in calgary plus a few here in edmonton. I have first aid, H2S, whmis, TDG, clean driver's abstract, construction background... but no luck.

I was thinking about it at work today, simply asking gets a person no where... so I'll hopefully speed things up...

$400 to the first person to get me on a drilling crew. minor stipulations, must be ASAP, paying $20+/hr, camp work. That's it.

If you have a buddy who's working rigs and you think there might be a chance, get in touch, it could mean $400 in your hands.

if that doesnt show desperation, i dont know what does.

Why not go work for the labour unions up in Fort Mac? $22-23/hour plus living allowance....

My buddy works on one, and their building a water treatment plant or something right now (I think he said).
