| Failure to Stop plus a speeding ticket, lose license? - Click HERE for Original Thread |

A good friend of mine got pulled over today. He was doign 96 in a 60 zone. Also, apparently the cop stepped out on the road to stop him, and my friend kept driving, thus the cop jumped in his car and followed him.
He got a $289 Failure to Stop ticket, as well as a $211 speeding ticket. As far as I know, both of these tickets carry demerits. He has a graduated liscense which only has 8 demerits, and I think the tickets are worth 9 demerits.
My question is if the cop didnt take his licsense at the time when he was pulled over, can he still lose it or have it suspended? :dunno:
Coles Notes: Failure to stop. Speeding ticket. Can he lose license? |

| If he doesnt fight those, he can expect a letter in the mail letting him know his licence is suspended. (As far as I know) |

Hmmmm
If he has 8 demerits and you want to take away 9, you would end up at -1.
you need at least 0 demerits to keep your liscence.
Simple grade 3 math
8-9=-1
0>-1
DONE
'
Now far grade 6.
Anyone remeber "your innocent until proven guilty"??? Once he pays the tickets or pleads guilty he will get a letter in the mail.

heh? your math is completely haywire.
You don't start at 8, you start at 0. So 0 + 9 = 9. It's not a lack of merits, it's a could of demerits. He would have 9 demerits. Once he has 8 or more, his licence is up for suspension.
9 >= 8 -> Suspension.
Cops won't take a licence on the spot for a suspension due to demerits. Like everyone says, after pleading or being found guilty, he will get a letter in the mail. |

First off, you could have answered my question with a simple yes. There was definately no need to insult me. Jeff gave me a straight up answer, as would most of the other members here. Is it too much to ask?:dunno: |
