| hey i am just wondering what i can expect at my defensivce driving course? will it be pretty laid back and is the test easy? |

| the test is a joke. You have to be retarded to fail. I think the only way to fail is if you cant read english. The class is soooooo laid back i cant stress that enough. |

| A buddy of mine just took it a few days ago. The instructor more or less told them the answers to the test while they were writing it. The only kid who failed, didnt speak very good english.:thumbup: |

| rofl exactly what i said. In my class there were 3 guys who had alcohol problems and thats why they were there, to get some demerits off for drunk driving, 3 people with excessive speeding problems, and everyone else just needed to do it not to loose their license. The class was a joke. it is seriously worth everyones time to go take the 8 hour course so that you get -3 demerits which you can use when you do get a ticket or to loose a few, as well your insurance will drop. |

hmmm, is it all in one day? and where do you go to take it? I wouldn't mind having 3 demerits taken off...:thumbup: and it's super easy?:D sweet lol. are you sure the insurance rate drops a bit if you take the class?
does anyone know how long it take to have the demerits removed from your record? |

AMA offers it, you can even take it online now. Just hit up google or check threads in this section of forum, I've posted links to courses before.
Insurance likely won't drop, since insurance is based on when you're last at-fault accident, summons or claim was, not how many merits/demerits you have. Most insurance companies could care less what courses you have. I have defensive driving, offensive driving, high speed pursuit, collision goemetry, etc from back when I was with the Military Police, and I found I hard time getting any discounts at all even for all that. |

well thats the thing, my insurance did drop and i was nineteen so its still worth a shot
Note i have never taking driving classes, only defensive driving, i should probably get on it and get even lower rates |

| It used to be those courses where equiv to have 1 ticket off your record so if you have 3 tickets, pay x amount/year take course Ins co adjusted as if you only had 2 tickets... but that was under the old laws. |

You can get the demerits off right after the course. it is a day course that starts at 8 and ends at 5 i believe. Its in ama at northgate and right after you can have them take 3 demerits off. |

When I took my course, right after I finished it I walked to the front counter of the AMA in Kingsway and they took 3 demerits off my license right then and there.
No wait, no hassle and the best $90 or so that I've spent in a long time. The only catch is that you can only have 3 demerits removed once a year, so you can take the course 9 times over the span of a year but only 1 counts. I also think that if you have a clean license and take the course you have a 3 demerit credit for 2 years. |

That is all true. you can have a credit for 2 years which i still suggest it to everyone. Its like being allowed to speed until your caught hahaha not that i recommend it :rolleyes: |
