| Hey to everyone, ok so I was looking around for winter tires for my lude 205/50/16 and the best I could get it 198/each for Michelin X-ice winter tires, but that was too much so I figured I go to Wal-Mart and they had some nice looking winter tires with nice tread and design, they are "Dunlop Graspic DS-1" 89Q speed rating (most winter tires are)for only 112.98/each but for 205/55/16. That’s a good price for that size and series of height. I got my self 2 of them for the front only. My 2 cents on winter tires if anyone is interested in buying. |

hmm, my experience got me $88.00 a tire balanced at a shop thats not sponsored on here. came out to $463.00 all said and done, holy crap, takes the snow right off the ground to the asphalt. So good I can't slide anymore, its all grip.!
awful customer service, heck I was treated worse than a prostitute, asked what I wanted, payed money and was shown the door!
The Michelin X-ice are nice tires and i like the brand names!

I didn't get them installed there:D
i value my car, so i took it to a little place I like to go because it's a family shop that is just under everybodey else's radar, and get old-fashioned personal service(hard to find these days): Dawson Motors(97th , 127 ave). they spotted some rusting in my rims and took care of it too. |

i pass by there quite often, how much did they charge to mount/balance them? |

i think it was $40, plus $40 to deal with the rust, stems extra.
it was more expensive than crappy tire, but at least i got my car back running the same as it was going in ;) |

40 per tire?!
i was actually looking at tires at walmart today, and their winters arent too bad. i could use a set of winters anyways, and i also needed a set of all seasons. i just dont like a typical high school kid changing my tire and driving my car. |

| buying only 2 tires is not a good idea....All four tires should be the same... |

I bought some winter tires there for an older car and the price and service were very good. I watched them install the tires through the window and they were very good about cleaning the inside of the alloy rims to remove anything that could cause leakeage. Some crappy 2nd hand tire places will try to sell you on their "bead sealer" for alloys because they are too lazy to clean the rims properly. I had zero leaks from their tires and they offer good warranty and free rotations and flat repairs. Their pricing on swapping out the winters for summers was reasonable too.
This was at the Spruce Grove Wal-Mart and it was much better tire service than the Canadian Tire. The problem with Wal-Mart now is they can't get any workers and the one in Spruce Grove is closed more than it is open now. |
