| I was just curious if there is any cons or side effects to using one of these. Such as not releasing all the way and such things. |

| Stay with cable for less headache. Cable is reliable, and adjustable. |

as far as i know, hydraulic is self adjusting over time whereas cable you gotta adjust it every time you beat on the clutch. for reliability, id have to give it to hydraulic as a cable could snap more often then getting something like a leaking slave cylinder or something |

| Well the thing is I have a B18A from a 93 integra and its complete with everything. And my current car is hydraulic and was wondering if these are any good. |

Get a different Tranny.. Don't even bother.. Someone out there will trade you for their EF swap or something...
Don't do the conversion if you don't HAVE too... |

| If you're dropping the b18a in a car with a hydro clutch to start, you'd save yourself more of a headache by finding someone to trade the b18a cable tranny for a b18b hydro one. |

| How much do the B18B transmission run for? I remember seeing them for about $500. |

| You should be able to find one for a little less than that. I guess maybe stuff is more expensive here due to supply and remand, but just keep checking around, you should be able to find somene who either wrote off their teg or moved onto a B16 or B18C transmission for the shorter gears. Having driven both, if you don't spend tons of time on the highway I prefer the B16 tranny myself. It's a blast to drive. My hybrid tranny is terrific for both city and highway (B16A 1-4 gears, B18B 5th gear w/ 4.40 final drive). It all depends really on what you want to do. I thought I saw a b16 tranny for sale on here a week or so ago. I can't remember if it was cable or hydro though. |

I'm sure someone might have bought a B18B for there Ef or something... and would rather have a B18A Tranny.. Post up about it... WTB/WTT: B18B Tranny.
And a B16 Tranny with the B18B 5th gear Must Rock your Socks off, Eh Mik? |

It's a good time, great mix for acceleration and crusing on the highway (I get nearly 40mpg on the highway) and it still has more giddy up than the same 5th gear does in the B18B tranny because of the 4.40 final drive as opposed to the 4.266. The only downside is there is a huge change in gear height between 4th and 5th, so don't wring the guts out of 4th and cram it into 5th without letting the shafts rev down a bit. Rather than 3800 at 100km/h in 5th, my engine now does 2900rpm.
I do miss the b16a 5th for around the city. I loved being able to cruise around with ease between 45-55km/h in 5th and still be able to accelerate... nice and quiet even with a reasonably loud exhaust. Oh well, guess that just means I need more power to do so eh. ;) |
