i have been doing some research on single turbo conversions and came upon this. there is a vg30det that was made for y32 glorias in japan. Is there any info you have heard with compatiblity etc etc? cause i plan to swap this into my z32 2+2 =)

VG30DET on Wikipedia

The VG30DET is the same as the VG30DE, but with a single ceramic turbo. It produces 255 hp. It was used in the Nissan Leopard (F31) as well as the Nissan Cima, Gloria, Cedric (y31) and 300ZR (z31) (same as the 300ZX , just the VG30DE and VG30DET instead of the VG30E and VG30ET )

I dont think there would be a problem with the swap as long as your comfortable with doing the plumbing the new engine will require.

Why not just do a VG30DETT swap instead? Or just get the turbo and put it on your VG30DE since the VG30DET is the same internals as a VG30DE

Why wouldnt you just swap a TT motor? Doesnt really make sense to me

vorpalz
eh, RB26DETT swap, go big or go home :p

Seriously, do the motor mounts, tranny hook up and assorted electronics work with the Z32? If not, you're adding time, parts and $$$ to the swap.

so is the swap a straight swap?

Might give you some ideas. This talks about the tt swap.
