I'm gonna assume you either drive a 97 golf or a jetta. To run 16x9 in the rear, you'll need some fender modifications. Most people widen their fenders when they runs 9, I've seen some pics where they just rolled the fender lip, the wheels sticks out quite a bit. Buy the wheels first before you take it to the body shop, so they can form the fender around the new wheel.
to simplify the ET thing, basically, the smaller the number, the closer it gets to the fender. For example, your stock wheels have a ET of 35. If you go with the same wheel, but with a ET of 25, the new wheel will be closer to the fender lip by 10mm.
if you have any more questions or VW questions in general, you can PM me. |

| I just bought a set of those type a's in 16x9. They are for a mk2 and i had to cut my front fenders and roll the rear. So far it looks like they will fit perfectly. Being that they are for a mk2 i have the benefit of running g60 arches to hide the cut front fenders. Most people on the vortex with type a's on mk3's usually have 7.5's in the front and 9's in the back. |
