Does anybody have some cheap upgrade parts for my Mustang? It's a 1980.

It's too slow!

I have some great suggestions, affordable, great power and easy to come buy!
PM me

I have an 87 Hatch that I am working on right now myself.

Are they legal? My dad says I can only do mods that are legal.

hmm, drop the inline 6 and mount the same motor that was in the SVO mustangs. or do a 5.0 Swap!

if you really wanted too though, go out to the junkyard and take a 351 out of an older crown vic and bolt it in!

but as for the inline 6 and being modified for power, I am sure you can find forged pistons and get a turbo set up, would not really be as cost effective as just dropping a cheap 4 banger turbo in it.

Also keep in mind there is alot of transferrable suspension upgrades for your car, I believe you can go 79-04 mustang diffs, they all generally bolt in and give you a better gear selection and choices for handling, you can go IRS or solid 8.8.
There are 5 lug conversions so you can get the more desirable wheels and brake upgrades.
I could go on forever!
Let me know if you are interested in knowing more.

Anything that costs like $40?

k&n, wish I had an extra to help you out but I don't, either than that, a good tune up, I am guessing you are carbed, so make sure everything is set right and try a .5" wider exhaust.

unless you can spend some money or have a place to fab stuff, your gonna be stuck.

I would think best way to go would be to drop some cash on a walbro 255 litre fuel pump, bigger carburator , K&N filter, exhaust system, fuel pressure regulator and some tuning! should give you a good kick in power! oh yeah, don't put a stereo in it! Its a lot of weight, Take out anything you don't need in the car, the lighter the better!

Yeah but I need my tunes. The system isn't great, it's just a couple Pyramid 12's from London Drugs, but they do pound good! Haha.

Maybe like a cool air intake? I can't find any for my car though. I've also heard splitfire spark plugs are good, that should give a good power boost right?

fugumerkur
I think what you need is a V8 then, easy install and tons of power right off the bat.

Unless your car is in need of a tune up you won't see a noticeable difference in power from sparkplugs.
$40 won't really get you anything but an air filter.

You are dealing with a 26 year old car that has an engine that was considered underpowered even back then. Don't waste your money sinking cash into it, if you want something fast save up and get a 5.0.

uhhh.. $40?? Fill it up with gas.. and call it a day. :p

Don't bother trying to get power out of it for $40...
