hey guys all i hear about maaco's paintjobs are horror stories and that their prep work sucks so, and that they are cheaper than anyone else but you also get what you pay for. so i was just wondering if anybody has had a good quality paintjob done by them.

we had one of our volvos done by them a few years back. southside location. wasn't that bad. they oversprayed where i couldn't figure out why ( exhaust tip was painted....) but otherwise it looked pretty good. got there base/clear top of the line job for like 1200 bucks lol. sold the car a few months after so no idea how it held up.

the west end location has the best painters followed by south side, then yellowheads painters suck. If you are 1/2 competent and are able to do your own prepwork, ie wetsand, or even dry with 400grit if you are lazy, then you should have no problems. their paint quality will be comparable with other places, it is just that their prepwork is usually garbage, and the painter are inconsistant between shops.
