Stunting - Click HERE for Original Thread

Invalid Zero
So like I said here.
http://forums.780tuners.com/showthr...;threadid=52053

I got a stunting ticket. Do you think if I told the judge it was slippery I would get let off? Cause when it's slippery it's not like you can control 100% of the time. And my car is Rear Wheel Drive so that doesn't help either.

NESTLE
dont even bother, just phone up points and odds are u wont even have to step foot in court.

Invalid Zero
That's just going to cost more money. Don't they just go and ask the judge for lower money? Why can't I do that?

If I tell the judge my dad won't give me any money for the ticket will that help?

The Points people will generally try to use loopholes, as well as their influence to get your ticket lowered.

Since you have no experience doing this, I think it would be foolish to assume you can acheive the same results

You can obviously ask the crown for a reduction, however I'm sure in the officer's notes he wrote down what happened and it sounds pretty clear to me what did happen.

Wouldn't the judge say "If you're old enough to drive you're old enough to pay off the tickets you get when you drive"?

When dealing with a judge / crown prosecutor you have to think reasonably and logically. If you can show them why you don't deserve the ticket, they are typically more than happy to take it off.

But let's be honest. You do deserve the ticket. And you should accept responsibility for your actions and pay the thing. It's part of maturing into an adult.

Invalid Zero
I guess. It still sucks though. I wish he didn't see me do it.

jwkbbp
pretty sure if u say u dont have money u can get an extension on your payment.

u can also plead guilty to a lesser charge to a justice of the peace and they may reduce it a little.

How 'bout you grow up and take responsibility for your actions instead?

You seem to be starting a ton of newb threads, and posting silly comments.

Maybe you should read & search for a bit before feeling like you know something and should be posting.

Jeeze... High Schoolers these days.

Did daddy buy your car too? Too bad he wont pay for your tix, or your eventual crash.

Your story seems to be changing a lot, was it intentional or not? Would you actually go to court and lie to the judge? Are you that much of a threat to other drivers that you can't control your car? Or are you that much of a *dumbass* that you don't care about other drivers.

Go do your "drifting" in a parking lot, or *even better* in a safe environment like a track. Not on the road, idiot.

Invalid Zero
Well I'm sorry if I like being in the car modding scene. I don't know everything, but I like to learn stuff. That's why I was posting in the forums.

Come on grant dont be so hard on the kid.
Go with points, maybe they might even get some demerits off your ticket, as that will be the big hit.
Sucks though that your ticket will cost more then your car did =P

No way.. People need to be told How it is..

And Especially Newbs.. We've all have people yell at us when we were newbies.. Now it's our turn..

Just like Highschool Initiation... :p

Anyway.. I agree.. If you're gonna do the act.. be Prepaired for the consiquences..

Don't think the Judge or Crown will have Pitty on you.. They Deal with Piss-Ant's like you and I every day.. This I know.. Because I was Polite about everything and the Crown told Me .. My car was a 'Shit magnet' So I said Screw you guys.. And Bit my tongue and Paid Up..

I Put an 'Illegal Muffler' On my car.. so I payed the fine for it..

Easy as that..

lovinthespeed
no i am with grant 100% i am 17 to and no i bought my car after 4 years of saving. But ya the snow was nice and fun to drift for the first hour but grow up if you had any respect for people or your car you would not do shit like that. and open up your eyes cops are as easy to see as school busses. but do it in a safe and controlled environment were no one can get hert. go into the bonnies. but i would go with points casue you may think your top shit here but when you swear to the bible and try and lie to a judge as you look him in the eyes you will not be able to but points can. so good luck with the ticket and please grow up wat if a friend was walking his dog and you hit him as you hit the curb and killed the dog. think befroe you do stupid shit.

ps you said you were showing a friend how good you could drift and you hit a curb wow:thumbup:

Comments like that make me think you deserve to have your fine doubled and your licence revoked. It proves not only that you failed to learn a lesson from your dangerous actions, but that you have zero remorse for it and will likely do it in future if you think there's no one around to see it.

I'd even go so far as to say kids like you are the reason other kids your age are getting gouged on insurance, because it's only time before you 'cause major damage due to irresponsible damage.

Just go to court and use that exact line. "Sir, this sucks. I wish the cop didn't see me do it." I'm sure he'll be even less forgiving than I was.

Particularly if he adds in "Look sir, I was just showing my buddy how good I could drift... in the snow... in traffic... and I only got the ticket because the car behind me was a cop."

Invalid Zero
It wasn't in traffic. It was by my house with no cars around. All the stuff you guys are saying sounds like my dad. He was even more mad than you guys!

I'm sure he was, be because by the sounds of it he pay's your insurance under his policy so not only are you screwed for insurance your dads rates are going to sky rocket aswell.

Hope you learned something at least.

Hmmmmm.........everyone who's older and more experienced than you is saying it was a stupid thing to do, the law is saying it was stupid and is punishing you with a fine. Do you think maybe there's a reason for that?

If you want to keep driving stupid, I don't care. But next time you pull open the paper and read about people dieing in a car accident, remember that's what driving like a moron will do.

lovinthespeed
i bet i am the same age of you and i said it was stupid its casue you need to learn and grow up man no offence

How old are you?...out of curiousity.

You fucked up, some body saw. It doesn't matter, pay up.

Or take these peoples advice and stop talking because you're digging your self a pit making your self look like an idiot.
You say crap like this

"It wasn't in traffic. It was by my house with no cars around. All the stuff you guys are saying sounds like my dad. He was even more mad than you guys!"

Who are you trying to fool, I could shoot you in the bushs where no body lives. I still shot you, and I'll be going to jail :dunno:
Ya know...

Well there are some guys at school who have wrecked like one or two cars. I haven't wrecked any, so I'm not that bad. Not all 17 year olds are bad drivers.

lovinthespeed
by curiosity wat school you go to? and by how many cars people wreacked is not how good of a driver you are. it is do people feel safe well with you? do you break the law alot? do you respect others? do you drive for your self or the others on the road? ect. you get my drift not how many accidents people have been in you got alot of growing up and learning about cars ahead of you young boy lol i am 17 to man but learn befroe you talk casue you sound like you know nothing and think your all that with the car daddy bought you

Godzilla
wrecked any yet , just because other guys at your school have wrecked cars and you havn't dosn't make you a good driver. seriously if your that much of a pro drifter go to the walmart parking lot or something like that after hours where theres actually "no traffic".

jib_freak
wow...im only a year older than you but by the sounds of things i'm far more mature and aware of things than you are man. after a month i got my license back today after going to court, sucking my shit up, and throwing down more money than anyone ever wants to in court. what i did was stupid, i know that, and i regret doing what i did. but i didn't rely on my parents to buy me out of MY problem. i dealt with it the way i saw fit...did my research, told the truth, and in the end, came out on the better end of the stick.

honestly...if you think you're a better driver than your friends just because you havn't crashed your dads car yet you're dumber than a drunk driver who thinks hes sober!! being a good driver intails that you're in control, know your surroundings, and respect them fully...

and btw...unless your dads a really nice and understanding guy, don't expect to be driving for a while lol...and if you are going to be, id hope to god your dad makes you pay for your own fucking insurance!!

dtjohnst

Yes they are.

I'm 27, I've been driving with a FULL licence since my 16th birthday. I've had 1 at fault accident, and 3 actual speeding tickets with 2 more photo radar. That's my ENTIRE driving history.

I took driver's ed in school. Then I took a generic driving course with the military. Then I took a defensive driving course with the military police. After that I did offensive driving, high speed pursuit, collision avoidance, collision geometry, and a multitude of driving clinics and seminars. I spent 7 years carrying a badge driving a car for a living, often at high speed through traffic, and 3 of those years I did it full time.

Despite all that, every now and then I catch myself doing something and think "wow, this is really stupid." Not often, but it happens. I'd say I'm not a "good" driver.

My dad has been accident and ticket free for over 40 years. I've seen him dodge and weave through more than one multi-car pile up happening all around us. I've seen him power-turn a family van to avoid collisions. He was a police officer for 37 years, spent most of that doing traffic and patrol, took and tought more courses than I could ever count. He's starting to be a good driver.

The fact is, exeperience is EVERYTHING in driving. I could teach you everything I know about driving from all my courses combined in a classroom, you'd know all the theory, and it wouldn't make you 1 lick better as a driver.

I know the other 16 and 17 year olds are going to get upset at what I'm saying, but tough. EVERY driver with only a handful of years driving under their belt (and I could 10 years as only a handful) is NOT a good driver, because they don't have enough experience, unless they drive 10 hours a day for a living.

But you'll find they don't do dumb things like drift or speed excessively on normal streets. Why? Their experience and skill at driving has shown them that there's always unknowns on the street. They save that shit for THE TRACK, where there's a controlled environment and emergency crews on standby.

Think whatever you want. The best driver in the world could get in 5 accidents tomorrow if the circumstances are against him, wrecking cars doesn't matter. Time behind the wheel and realizing there's a time and place for doing things like driving are the ONLY thing that make someone a "good driver."

And obviously, you aren't there yet. But based on how immature you've been thus far in your discussion, I'd say you'll just call me an "old man" or something and think I'm crazy. But every word I've written here is true. And those drivers who, like me, have many years under their belt and have seen what can happen, will tell you the same thing.

TAKE IT TO THE TRACK.

180sxforthewin
I agree

Unless you are in a controlled enviroment then it is pretty stupid

Invalid Zero
Yeah but I can't drift at a track in the winter. And in the summer this car can't drift so I have to pracitce now before I get my Silvia.

lovinthespeed
there are winter tracks man you just have to look or go out in the bonnies man. Why do you need to practise you are doing it casue you think it is cool and fun but it is really just immature and childish grow some balls and face your punishment man

How does a 17 year old, presumably in highschool... afford a silvia?
I had to save up for a 500$ mini van for my first vehicle.

Anyway, then clearly you better keep breaking the law so one day you loose your license and can't drive your new nissan.

 You make life harder for the rest of us who actually work hard to earn our toys, respect people, their property and the law.

Assuming you even get the silvia

Spinning out in winter is alot different from drifting.(and I use the term lightly) Wait till you get your car and then goto the track. No need to smash up your stang in the winter.

You know what man?

I'm done wasting my breath with you. Keep up with your dangerous stunts. I hope you wrap your car around a pole one of these days to learn your lesson. hopefully you don't kill or hurt anyone other than yourself in the process.

Please stay off my streets.

fugumerkur
ABSOLUTE BEST ADVICE. you want to drift in the snow!!!! and not get in trouble doing it!!!
The money you just wasted with this stunting ticket could have supported a club that puts on really great events all season.

Edmonton rally club, I bet they are having another rallycross soon too, so take 50 bucks pay for a membership and take your car to a sanctioned event and really see what it can do in the snow, you can't hurt the car unless you really want too, and it lets you know how and what it will do in the snow or dirt , mud grass, heck they race on it all..!

They always post their events in these forums and are a very hospitable crowd, just be mature and keep it safe.

Please, please don't drive like the road is yours, the roads are really bad this time of the year and its not worth it sitting outside on the hood of a crumpled car in minus 20 explaining to the other person you hit that you were just seeing how well it drifted.!

Take a video camera and record it at a sanctioned event and then post it in here with mature comments and its golden..

also, I second the note about drifting in snow and drifting on asphalt, Two totally different skills. Slightly similar but not really, I really don't think your mustang will drift to the right seeeing as how its most likely a stock diff and if its not a 5.0 its not a locker. Drifting on asphalt is a lot easier with a locking diff and to tell you the truth, your ticket for stunting is about the price you coulda payed for a nice used diff from a written off stang.
Why not put a little cash in your stang and use that to learn how to drift on instead of buying a silvia to destroy right off the bat? Mustang parts I believe are going to be reasonably cheaper than the nissan parts and a little easier to come by.
I have come to a conclusion from reading your other posts and I think you should spend some time tuning and maintaining your stang before you move up the ladder, of course this is totally up to you. This is just advice though and I really think you need it.
You are more than welcome to take a look at my 89 LX, it currently has fully upgraded suspension from a thunderbird turbocoupe and is getting the same motor that is in my merkur, in your case these parts are cheap and accessible, your stang can drift you just need to learn more on how to get it there.

Practising your winter drifting for when you get your silvia? Yea cause turning your steering wheel hard letting the ice do the work is exactly the same as summer time.

I can drift a minivan in winter.. Doesnt mean i can drift.

Ok im done.. I cant honestly believe a hospital allowed someone to give birth to somebody this stupid...

jib_freak
ok invalid zero...you definately need to pull your head out of your ass...sure, snow is fun to play on...IF!!! you're in a controlled or completely empty environment...doing that kind of shit on the streets is the most irresponsible thing you could do. as said above...you are for sure the reason people under 25 have to pay so damn much for insurance when they drive safely and respect the roads and the other people using them.

i agree with the shit above too...being a "good driver" is all about experience. the longer you're on the road, the more know how you have, and the more you go through will mold you into a better driver...i've taken drivers ed, defensive driving, offensive driving, and winter driving courses...all of which i did learn things from, but you don't actually realise what you had learned until its applied in a real life situation...its much different.

i hope that one day...sometime soon...you'll realise that you having the fun you want on the road is compromising other peoples' safety...maybe if you crash into somebody or hurt yourself you'll actually learn something other than "o damn, there was a cop behind me...that sucks...hope dad gives me more money!!"

Mobius

Frankly...I don't care anymore. People want to be morons despite people giving them solid advice, let them.

Cars are over-insured for liability and the world's overpopulated. Let's just hope he only knocks the population down by 1 and doesn't take anyone else with him when he goes.

I feel that exact same thing when I read about dumb punks wrapping their cars around things doing retarded stunts. Tragic, but makes the roads safer for all of us.

aznpryde87
wow i just read this thread, and this kid doesnt know what he is doing. he doesnt have respect for anything you guys are saying. from reading his replies to what you guys have said, it seems like he is taking everything as a joke, and i too hope he doesnt take anyone else out with him if he crashes. and ya its cause of ppl like him that under 25 insurance is so high
