I just finnished watching this documentary, and found it quite interesting. It is Al Gore Making a presentation to a College class on the Global Warming Issue. O found it to be dry at times, but had some very interesting and thought provoking ideas.

I found this video to be quite good and give it a 9 out of 10 for a documentary

I liked the part where he talked about manbearpig.

Just finished watching this movie/documentry. I highly recommend watching it.

There is nothing really earth shattering in the content of the feature, meaning you are not going to have an epithany. Watching the film is like reading the warnings on a cigarette box, it creates awareness. I wonder how many people actually quit smoking due to the warnings on the cigarette cartons?

Regardless, it is better to create awareness and try to slowly change our habits than to sweep this problem under the rug.

Pfft. Uh-huh. Next you'll tell me Santa Clause exists too.

Good show though. I watched it over the Xmas break on my uncles big screen and satellite. I give it 8/10 for a Documentary, it's got nothing on "Why We Fight" though.

At times it almost seemed to me that he was trying to say "I didn't care that I lost the election, I had this other thing to do", you know, ego-saving. I dunno. It was good, but parts of his presentation rubbed me the wrong way, like a man trying to make himself look like less of a loser. (And by loser I mean losing the election, not that he's a poor bum who lives in a trailer that no one likes).

Excellent documentary

The part about how fast Earth's population is raising was pretty amazing.

i agree that the movie was excellent. A bit dry in parts but informative and interesting.

makes it super clear and obviously undeniable for all the nay-sayers that something fucked up is happening.

boss.
You'd be stupid to realise something wasn't happening it was -27 out 6 days ago and yesterday it was -2 .

Anyone watch the Colbert Report as religiously as I did over the summer (since I was on break for 4.5 hours a day as an air traffic controller and it was on a dozen times during my breaks)?

"Boy is it ever hot out there today. And it's not global warming, Al Gore. It's called Summer."

There's a reason why 'global warming' hasn't gained any traction. Because as soon as you make a few logical, scientific proofs/deductions to show global warming, some idiot comes along and sites the weather. And there is a WHOLE lot of these idiots out there (see: this thread).

Weather isn't proof of climate change. In fact, using 'weather' to 'prove' global climate besmirches the entire argument. It's the main reason that there is so much procrastination about the whole issue.

If you WANT to do something about global warming, do the very least you can. Don't talk about recent weather fluctuations when you talk about global warming. (If you can't figure out WHY it kills the arguement, do some more reading...).

Actually it has a lot to do with the weather. The weather is changing so rapidly because of global warming. Obviously you didn't watch the documentary.

Huh? wtf would "warming" affect, if not weather? Seeing as how all weather systems are differentiated by two factors: moisture content and TEMPERATURE. If weather should be unaffected by global WARMING, then what would it take to change the weather?

You say read, I say talk.
