| On my way to school this morning, I came across several accidents. On my way home, some chick hit some ice and hit me. Anyone else have any stories? :dunno: |

I can tell you that the city and surrounding areas are out of salt.
lots of grit and calcium but no salt |

| Nothing interesting happened to me, I didn't even see any wipeouts. Although the 30 minute drive to Sherwood park took 1h 10m. |

I almost got into a good one on 50 st at about 315pm, oh was I pissed off, A semi truck with a B trailer flat deck had to make a right turn so he was slowing, I was in the left lane and was careful to pass, I noted to my two passengers why I was going so slow because I just new there was a car that was going to try and cross 50st right in front of me. No sooner did I finish saying that when a cavalier darts out right in front of me. the second he saw me he slammed the breaks and slid into my lane, I actually drove up on the curb and around him nice and slow and shook my head at him.
Stupid people, but hey, you just gotta keep your eyes open and its sad to hear that you got hit. Its not fair at all. |

| I saw all kinds of idiots on the road today. Didn't wipe out though so that's good. |

Some woman almost broadsided me on my way home because she couldn't figure out where her lane was. Then she looked at me like I was an idiot because my brain functions  I hate people who straddle lanes because they're incapable of counting how many ruts there are in the snow.
I can't figure out why some of the roads downtown are so icy though.
B-Wurm :D |

downtown traffic is slow. when going that slow the heat from the cars slowly melt the snow on the ground (this happens especially around corners).
when the cars leave, the somewhat melted snow no longer has a heat source and is exposed to the cold and freezes.
worst around the corners. |

| Im in a turning lane waiting for a pedestrian to cross the road, and the jackface behind me actually has the odacity to honk at me. I gave him the old one finger salute and he suddenly realized that he had to take a different route home instead of driving beside me with me glaring. |

would it not be the friction of the tires that melts the snow mostly?
it really does explain it a lot better |

| Saw some close calls but nothing serious, heard about a trucker that ran into an electrical pole and couldnt leave till they shit the power down. |

| theoretically, i could have underestimated the iceyness on a corner and overdrifted into a ditch, but that would be stunting if it were true. |

Got stuck in some snow.
Took me 2 hours to get out. Had to end up calling AMA. |

I am going to say the chick that hit you was pretty damn hot, otherwise you would be calling her a "bitch".
Either that or the car you were driven was pretty crappy. |

took me an hour and 10 minutes to do my 25min drive home.
Intersections on the yellowhead are like a skating rink... I took off slow cause all 4 tires are spinning, and some fat broad in a van behind me honks her horn.
I had some fantasies of cutting off her face and wearing like a mask. |

| the morons that do 40kmh on the hiway in these conditions are just as dangerous. if you can't handle the snow stay off the friggen roads, this is alberta. |

| Some douche on the Whitemud today during rush hour was driving around with his brights on, tailgating everyone, and purposely swinging his car back and forth in his lane. |

| I feel that when the roads are this bad I just get off of them, I really enjoy winter driving myself but its the nervous drivers that freak me out, grippin the wheel like their hangin off a cliff, think how they would react in a dire situation! |

And damn the morons who think its safe to go the posted limit. |

| hey i wasn't saying it was safe to do the limit, i slow down to whats necessary when necessary. just the whiteknuckled retards that are going at least 20km/h slower than the flow of traffic (that is moving along safely) piss be off, they are a hazard. |

| well this morning i was driving up the 105 Street hill (that steep one after the low level bridge).. i was fine up until the cunt in front of me slowed down to a near stop. It was game over from there and i had to go down the hill backwards. :( |

Most definetly man. I wasnt arguing your comment, I just wanted to add to it since some ppl drive too slow, and some drive to fast for the conditions present and both are equally dangerous. And I definetly agree with the whiteknuckle drivers being a hazard, b.c what are they going to do when they have to make an abrupt turn and their claws are gripped so tight into the wheel they are holding the dash. |

weather like this makes a certain point unavoidable for me to have going over and over in my head as i drive in traffic in the city: "most of these people should either learn how to equip their cars for winter(clean the windows, get some friggin winter tires, turn off the recirculate feature of their interior heaters, etc) or GET OFF THE MUTHAFUGGIN ROAD!! my 14 year old car is just so superior to everything else that i encounter only because it has awd and winter tires. There should be rules about having clean windows and proper tires when there's snow on the road.
I'm not even going to touch how people drive on snowy roads, because i don't want to have an anyeurism today. |

ya i saw 2 rear enders, 1 t-bone, and 2 ditch divers today. i sware some people should not be able to drive on the roads. but one thing i realy dont like is that out where i live(south cooking lake, 20min on sherwood park) it takes like 2 weeks for them to plow, slat, or sand, and when they do it sucks. the roads are so bad and the city is falling behind. luckly i havent had any encounters yet. but sucks about the chick sliding into you.
thats my 1.28 cents |

North East
11803 - 48 Street
2.5 FUCKING HOURS... Yea i had some serious rage building on that drive.
Im with Godzilla. Sitting 1cm away from your steering wheel, eyes wide open, doing 15km/hr is just as dangerous. Not only is it a hazard. But it causes road rage with causes more accidents. |

| maybe u guys should buy better winter vehicles and tires. lol. i havent had one problem yet with my truck.. i've pulled about 10 ppl out of the ditch so far this winter and thats just between nisku and beaumont. gotta love the 4x4's. but its fun driving in my car goin arounds corners on highways with the lsd its a bit sketchy. it likes to wonder even on the straight icy roads. |

wow, so how did that work out? just hazards and slide the way down till a intersection? |

I have been lucky enough to not witness any accidents. Most people are actually driving pretty good, slower than usual, but not too slow. There are some idiots though. Last night, a mercury cougar that was swerving like crazy on the whitemud, then this morning an idiot in an is300 with his radar detector on made about 6 very quick lane changes without signalling and usually right in front of someone else. I was hoping to see his car totalled under an underpass further down the whitemud, but no luck. :dunno:
Also, this morning I was stuck behind a dodge ram in a residential area and he was driving with 2 of his wheels in the deep snow and the wind blowing the snow around made it so I couldn't see a thing. |

Saw my neighbours corolla f'ed up in the front end this morning, don't know what happened but he kinda drives a tad bit agressive at times, mind you the drive to Nisku will do that.
I wonder if people who have their windows fogged up have ever tried turning off the recurlating feature? I wonder if they ever wonder why their new car is always fogged up? I wonder if they have ever open up their owners manual? |

neons are retard proof the recirc turns off automatically when you turn on the defrost
as for morons on the road i just saw on yesterday that couldnt stop for a red and slid right out into an intersection luckily there was only a truck coming so he gunned it through the intersection squeezed between the cars that were turning left and then turned left with traffic and made it through withount any bumps to his car or others |
