Synthetic oil information - Click HERE for Original Thread

ChromeDragon
Sorry about the size here guys, but this is a good writeup on the basics of synthetic oils that should help you decide what type of oil is best for your engine. I figure that we have enough people asking about it often enough that we'll just sticky this for anyone interested in finding out a little more about what they are putting in their engines.

Enjoy. This is courtesy of D-Sport magazine (started off as a drag racing magazine, but now they cover a fair bit more than that. Definitely a mag I recommend checking out for tech articles much like this one.)

Wow that some good reading, thanks for taking the time to put it up:thumbup:

Not a problem. It was one of the better articles I've read in the past few years that wasn't just re-hashing how to turbo a Civic or other such "tech" articles that many of these mags post up.

Good post.

Thanks for the tip. This is still an American mag, so they won't necessarily have everything available up here listed. Nor are there any guarantees that all these listed are available to us either.

HEy what do you guys personally think of Royal Purple Syn oil any comments?

They also missed the fact that Amsoil makes and sells Extended drain filters as well.

They also missed the fact that you can extend oil change intervals with a used oil analysis. Wouldn't that save alot more cash than any increase in mileage? :dunno:
