Anyone else here do an exercise called "the bridge"? It works the abs. If so, how many minutes can you endure the pain?

| I do them about 3-4 times a week, i can go for about a minute an a half. What's a aveage time? |

| I'm not sure on the average time. I go to about a minute and 10 seconds and then collapse. I do them 3 times a day, everyday. |

| Yeah i ussually do 3 sets, i gained about 20 pounds over the last 6 months, some went to my stomach so i'm trying to bring my body fat down a little before my stomach get out of control :o |

| Same stance as a push-up, instead of sitting on your hands you use your elbows, also stick your ass up in the air a bit. Basically you just hold yourself until your body gives out. Hope this made sense. |

it's also heard it called the plank
i can do it for 1 min. and then 25 sec. on when i do it sideways (i don't know what the name of the sideways one, but it's a pilates position, i believe) |

| Yea, A bridge is the same thing as a push up, same position and everything, but like said above, your on your elbows. But you don't push up and down, you just stay there. After about 40 seconds or so, your abs will start to absolutely burn and when you can't take it anymore, you collapse in relief. |

Remember...you don't push up and down, just stay in that position until you can't take it anymore.

If you don't feel anything at 30 seconds, keep going. Everybody is different, so some can last longer than others. You'll feel it eventually. |

| ....Ive been on my blades alot more now that summer has come .... and when your pushing off your kinda hunched over (your hunched over more the faster you go)...and that really gets your triangles? not sure what the technical name for it is but its those side muscles u work when u do side crunches? ...anyways, i wonder if that'd make a difference in how long u can go? .....im gonna have to try it again some time :bigthumbup: |
