Importing a Cappuccino? - Click HERE for Original Thread

DeathBy240
I know they just became legal this month, but are any importers bringing one in? They seem awesome on paper and I'm considering getting one, but I'd really like to drive one, or at least get a ride in one first.

Anyone heard any talk of somebody bringing one in?

I'm sure some are considering it. But I'll ask the question everyone else is asking themselves.

Can you fit an LS1 in there?

There are plenty of mods available for the 660 engine to get it up to well over 150hp. I don't think I would bother with swaps in such a tiny car ... maybe a booste 4 cyl., but that would be it. Although I wouldn't really contemplate a Cappucino purely based on the clown-car factor. I've ridden in a Beat, that was bad enough.

Good idea on paper, not so much in reality. I was talking to Christain about his beat and how I wanted to bring over an az-1 or cap. Aside from the fact that you can't really drive them on highways and there small as all hell, they are still quite expensive over there and it really isn't worth it for any type of DD, unless you have extra cash sitting around that is.

a Cappuccino or Beat would make one hell of a fun little track car with a litre bike engine (busa, ZX12 etc.)

Bike engines in any small cars are sweet, 510s, bugs, they are the ultimate sleepers.

Mmmm, a Busa engine in there would be a whole lot of fun. Not sure what it would take to mod a different tranny to it though.

People use them in Lotus 7 clones, and from what I've read, it seems that they use the stock 6spd. sequential tranny, just with an adaptor flange to mate it with a custom driveshaft.

Hmmmm. I wonder what the ratios work out to? Wouldn't want it to go through the first 3 gears before hitting 60km/h because you're running too short of a rear end.

The capps are awesome lil cars. Ive seen and drivin them. Very fun and the 660 is good enough for a lil town ripper. If I got one I would toss in a SR20 or if I was being more conservitave Id drope the 1000CC Turbo Swift engine. Ive already matched up the bell housings and it would bolt right up with the 660 trans. I was going to do it in my old joy pop. But in all honesty dont plan on getting one if you want a cheap beater. They go for over 300000JPY and up. Ive bid on about 15 in the past year and never came close to make it a cheap unit. Even some beat ass ones still go for the 300000 and up. But yo Dave if you are really interested give me a call. I say SR20!!!! Make it a drivers car! If you dont I prob will in the next year or so.
