| I always here about people having mod chips for PS2 and XBOX. I know what they do, but how safe is it for the system? Is it worth spending the money to have it done? How much does it usualy run? |

It costs from $50 to $120 for the chip. How safe it is depends on how well you can solder... or how well the guy installing it for you can solder. Whether or not it's worth it depends on how much time you spend playing games.
Expect $80 for a Messiah 2 Pro v1.30 + $75-120 for install. A Messiah 2 Pro 1.08 can be had for about $60 or so. A DMS2 v2 with 1.30 software is $120 or so. |

| There is an Xbox chip called "matrix" (I think the name is right). Anyways, my friend got one and it cost about $120 CDN after shipping. It requires zero soldering, it just contacts the board inside. Very easy to install. It also has the capability for you to select between the original Xbox BIOS and the new one, even while the console is turned on. |

crack a beer, roll a joint and goto xbox-scene.com and check out the forums. Eveything you ever wanted to know.
And btw the ps2 is gay compared to xbox for modding. with the xbox you can just go rent a game bring it home copy it to your harddrive, and you have that game for good. After about 5 or 10 games your harddrive will fill up, but just goto futureshop and buy one that's 10x's bigger(80gigs) and you can fit another 50 or 100 games on there. |
