That's a question that's never been asked before to be honest so I'm not totally certain. But if I had to guess, I would tend to say this particular event is intended for actual club members. The reason is a number of things tend to happen at this particular event which can include any of the following:
- new executive elections
- new newsletter release
- door prizes
- goodie bags or trinkets
etc.
Those tend to be perks or privileges of being a paid member.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question.
The Edmonton Z Car Club has its own website (www.edmontonzcarclub.com), but not its own forum. 780tuners provided us with a forum (under the club zones) here, which is what you and I are on right now. But this forum is open to the public for all Z and Nissan/Datsun/Infiniti owners to use, not just the Z Club members.
But anyone is welcome to join the Edmonton Z Car Club. The EZCC is a real car club (ie. not just a forum), with real members and real operating costs and membership fees. Participating in this forum does not automatically make a person a member in the club.
To sum up, this forum is used by both EZCC members and non-members. The Z Club has no other forums of its own. Ironically the number of non-members that use this clubzone forum actually outnumber the EZCC members here.

Hey Mike, I'm not sure if there will be door prizes or not. Last year Marty organized the event and brought tonnes of goodies from club sponsors. But he's not involved with it this year. I'm not sure who's organizing it this time, or whether there'll be prizes. I only know that Rob will be issuing the newsletter, and we might be doing elections.
Come to think of it, due the lack of some of these details, maybe it won't matter if non-members attend this year... :dunno: |

| I just wanted to attend an event or function before paying dues and becoming a member, I would like to know what the club does (ie car show's, track days ect...) I thought it would be easiest to learn about the club by showing up at a club meet and talking with the members. |

Well, why didn't you just say so? :p
You just missed the January meeting which was last week (Jan 4th), and the February meeting is on Feb 1st. The regular monthly meetings are the 1st thursday of every month. Non or potential new members are always welcome to show up to the monthly meetings. In fact its encouraged, and we're always looking to expand our membership.
As for this upcoming social, you only stumped me because I don't think we've ever had a non-member ask to come to that particular event before. I suppose there's no reason why you couldn't come. Some of the members' spouses might feel as ackward there as a newbie, if not moreso. So why not. :D |

Cool mabey I will show up, chance are I know atleast a handfull of you and a handfull probily know me. I drive the red JDM with the ricer spioler lol. |

| Do it, then I won't be the only newbie to the club:thumbup: and you already know me and you've spoken with Inzane already in person at one of the 780 meets....everyone in the club is super cool and a great bunch of people willing to help a fellow Z driver out. | hmmm i have been considering to join for a long time but cant really make it out to the thursday meetings.... but i have met a few of you guys at dtp or in person. if its free to non memebers iw ill defienlty come as i am looking for a tt motor swap for my 2+2 =D |

You could always email Doug the RSVP contact that VorpalZ put up. I haven't spoken to Doug recently and since I have nothing to do with the organization of this event I'm not the best person to know what the final word is on how far the invite extends. (ie. I've missed the last two regular meetings). |
