Just wondering, How would you be able to tell the year/month of manufacture from the JDM chassis codes?
Looking for my new vehicle:
JZS147-0004424
what would this be?!! any help or links would be handy!

| Your exporter/importer should be able to find out, if not they suck. It's already 15 years old, Nov/1991. |

Seriously? It was first registered Aug 1992..
Is there a link to find out? I dont want to buy the vehicle then be screwed! I want to see how to do it for myself.

The ViN you supplied is not the complete VIN
Here's the break down to tell the year of Manufacture:
10th character in a stadard Vin from the left
1980 A
1981 B
1982 C
1983 D
1984 E
1985 F
1986 G
1987 H
1988 J
1989 K
1990 L
1991 M
1992 N
1993 P
1994 R
1995 S
1996 T
1997 V
1998 W
1999 X
2000 Y
2001 1
2002 2
etc
2007 7
Cheers As for the Month of Manufacture it is stamped or a sticker on the Drivers door sill, under the hood and various other places. If those stickers were removed, Buyer beware.

He has a JDM Chassis code totally different than a USDM Vin number, also JDM cars don't have the month of manufacture stamped on the door sill or under the hood like here. |
