If so book your flight TODAY. There is a seat sale on at West Jet. Its a direct flight for under $500 with taxes....When I booked my ticket, the chick said the sale would probably be taken down very soon because of the race being on at the same time.

Just thought I would give you guys a heads up on how to save $300.

I'm extremely tempted, but I won't really know for a while. I really want to start hitting up some of these larger events around North America. Write a story and take some photos and I can write off the expenses.

I'm going :D

If you are going, book a hotel as soon as possible. The rooms routinely double and triple in price for the GP weekend, so don't expect to arrive at the last minute and find a place to stay.

This is correct. I am staying at one of the Universitys residences. Normally, their regular prices for room is $54...and you need to pay for 1 night when booking...Just for that weekend, $104 and you have to pay for 3 nights right now....

I have been looking around and almost anything that is at all close to downtown is either sold out, or they only have single kings for $400+ a night.

For anyone considering going, this is a little price break down. This is the cheapest flight and hotel I have found by far!

June 7-11 (4 nights)

Plane ticket - $492 http://c3dsp.westjet.com/guest/makebooking.shtml
Hotel - $208 (sharring room with a buddy) http://www.residences-uqam.qc.ca/eng/e_welcome.htm
F1 ticket - $385 (for grand stand 24) http://www.grandprix.ca/index_en.html

TOTAL: $1,085+tax+food+overpriced F1 shit+booze, etc

You can look to book hotels on the south shore, they are way cheapers and its like a 20 mins ride to the track...And if you guys can, go for the whole week, its a huge party all around downtown....man i miss Montreal:( ANd the best tickets are the silver in the Senna curve wich is at the end of the straight...you see them brake like mofo and go on it again.....and bring ear plugs:D
