I saw these in the newest Modified Luxury and Exotics mag and thought they were pretty cool. In the 18" size, a factory Porsche wheel weighs 30.9lbs and the Dymag only weighs 13.2lbs. They are carbon fiber with magnesium spokes.

Ummm, this isn't really anything new.
Why do you think alloy wheels are often referred to as "mags." |

I was referring to the carbon fiber part. I've seen them on race cars and bikes before but not regular road wheels.
And if you don't know where "mags" came from you should turn in your car enthusiast badge. |

| You can buy the Koenigsegg CCX with optional CF/mag wheels. |

| centerline makes 18 inch billet aluminum rims that are just a pond or two heavier then that and look like chrome and are more then likely 1/3 the price. |

I dunno, man. The company seems to cater to a pretty high clientèle. I mean, if a 400HP Porsche (GT3?) busted a rim with power alone, I don't think they would be in business selling rims for very long. I'm sure they're not cheap either... and they don't list the prices on their webpage. |

they are like those $1000000 dimond in crusted rims they are really only for show, because I don't care who you are if you think you can drive around with millon dollor rims and say leave the car in a parking lot of the local 7-11 to go grab a drink and come out and tstill have your rims there you are nuts. or can you imagine a couple of those dimonds letting go at 100 km/h that would suck.
If you ever curb rashed tthe carbon fiber rims they are done. I'm thinking they are for show or high end race cars only. |

An individual I know has a few sets of these on his street GT3 and his companies GT3 Cup car. Not one problem after a full season of track and street driving.
Also these things are lighter than even the hollow spokes |

Yup ...Those are serious wheels for serious money. You have to be in a pretty competitive field to justify that kind of money..........
hollow spokes are actually in the low 20 lbs...... Stock porsche wheels are traditionally quite light........A number of stock porsche wheels in the 20's. |
