Indonesia to declare H5N1 disaster - Click HERE for Original Thread

GOT BOOST
Hi Everyone,

I found this to be quite amusing.

http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/a...u.ap/index.html

Now lets put this into perspective. 63 Deaths Nation wide and a population of 245,452,739

https://www.cia.gov/cia/publication...ok/geos/id.html

Using these stats anything can be considered a disaster. Canada Should declare a national disaster on murders, or vehicular deaths. I think the murder rate was higher than that for 2006.

Sorry, but that is me and my cynical views on the media.

What kinda grosses me out about that is the fact that many of their chickens are shipped elsewhere. :dunno:

Other than that, the article is hilarious.

Problem is... it only takes a novel mutation in the virus and then it could cause a plague overnight. aparently, our population is overdue for a culling. once a virus has had a few generations worth of evoluton(couple of weeks each), it might have learned a thing or two about a new habitat such as humans...

I thk the reason they refer to is as a catastrophe is b.c from 3-4 deaths a year that number has exploded to the 60 which means the virus is either very rampant accross the country or it is starting to mutate. If it mutates, god help us all.

"Chickens found running loose will be immediately killed, the sick ones thrown into a fire and the healthy ones given to owners to be fried and eaten." lol i found this part funny. its a loose loose for chickens...and if you dont fry them the chicken police will be after you. :D
