| Thinly disguised GT-R SPotted... In New Mexico?? - Click HERE for Original Thread |
| Cyanide Ride |
" Around 5:30 Monday night, Keith (evo4g63) and I were heading down Cerrillos Road when we spotted the silver prototype Nissan Skyline, along with 2 black Armadas turning into an Amigo Mart on the opposite side of the road. Being that this was a rare sighting, we quickly flipped a "U" and pulled into the station. As we pulled in, the car surrounded by roughly 12 Asian guys who were logging information. Hoping that they spoke English, we decided to get down to talk with them about the car. I asked one of the guys what he thought of the car, and you guessed it, he had no idea what I was saying. However, he did manage to whisper a question into my ear, "you know GTR", in which I replied, "heck yes". As he asked me that, I noticed a large bulge on the right hand side of the covered interior. To my pleasant surprise it was a Japanese version Skyline equipped with factory turbos. We spoke with the reps from Nissan Japan a bit longer, and after a good 10-15 minutes of leg humping, let them get back on the road. The car has Michigan plates, and is being tested on US roads, so make sure to keep an eye out for it!"
Now that is certainly something you don't see every day... |

It's disguised. Why would they put the tape on the door handles and middle of the rims?
Anyone notice the hot new rims?! they are different than all the previous GT-R photos. |

I wonder if they would fit on a 240:cool:
But i fail to see how this car is great, for the money i would way rather have a new Z06, and with the money left over buy some toys for it |

Safe to say it's not going to touch the Z06's 3000 pound curb weight, nor it's 550 stock horsepower. |

Yeah, Nissan releasing a "supercar" (and I use the term lightly) with 450 bhp in this day and age; especially when it weighs (if other Skylines are anything to go by) 3400+ pounds.
Ooops.
Crank that bitch up, get 600 bhp with a warranty, drop a couple hundred pounds, then you can charge me 100 grand for it. |

You have a NSX and your complaining about an overpriced, and underpowered Faux Supercar that Nissan is releasing.  |

The thing about the NSX is that it's 15 years old. But still, 2900 pounds goes a long ways in keeping the car quick.
But it up against a 328, 348, 355 or 911 of that era, and it'll rape 'em. Hell, look for best motoring vids and you'll see what 290 bhp and 2800 pounds will do on a race track. F40s, 360s, 911 Turbos, Gallardos... they all place after my 15 year old design.
And I've never called the NSX a "supercar"; it's an exotic car yes, but no supercar. There are no Japanese supercars. |

2900 Lbs 2800 Lbs.....Get your facts straight. Why do you keep calling it a 15 year old car? The car came a long way from 1990 to its final end in 2005 and yours ceratinly doesnt rank with the latest NSX that was available.
The videos show a 911 TT and how it and the GTR are running very similar lap times.........Both these cars are Similar in weight and power. Please enlighten if you beleive that either of these cars are slow and underpowered.

The Best motoring vids usually have an NSX-R in 'em, hence the 2800 pounds.
Mine weighs 2970 pounds, no driver and a full tank.
The only differences between mine and an '05 is an extra cog in the box, which is a big deal, and 20 hp, which isn't. But drop the 6-speed in there, and you have a much better platform to start modding. Suspension changed very little, just firmness, and wheels sizes eventually went up an inch, from the 15/16 combo that was there in '91 to the 16/17s on the '05s. Oh yeah, the 02+ models are much uglier with their fixed lamps.
Toss the NSX-R into the GTR and 911 TT mix. It isn't far behind.
Just for sake's sake.
NSX-R on the 'ring: 7:56
360 Stradale: 7:56
R34 GTR: 7:54
Porsche 996 TT: 7:56
F430F1: 7:55
97 NSX: 8:36, which is faster than an Exige and C5 Vette.
Light weight goes a long, long way. As does great balance. |

Your numbers and years of these cars all all over the place. Im done arguing with you through computer screens. |

Good.
All I said is that 450 bhp doesn't cut it in today's "supercar" world, and you jumped on the "NSX is underpowered and slow" wagon like a fat kid on a burger. |

Edit: Nevermind I don't feel like getting into this.
The Nissan seems great, 450hp is enough for me if it's set up right, there's a reason a 500hp Corvette can beat higher horsepower cars. |
