| :eek: holy shit. thats almost the same thing happened to me last year except the bird hit the top of my front bumper and i was only going about 140km/hr. its probably one of the scariest things that's happened to me..i pretty much screamed the rest of the way home |

I had an encounter with a Raven on my drive back to New Brunswick in 2001. I just bought the Civic...had it for about 2 weeks at the time. I was driving early morning just outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario and all the sudden...a HUGE Raven cut across the higway and it flew right into the side of my car. Nailed my fender and ripped the passenger mirror clean off.
When I pulled over and looked at my car I couldn't believe it. It put a football size dent in my fender, chipped the paint on my "A" pillar and tore off the mirror. Ended up costing me over $1,000 to fix.

i remember being on the 401 leaving TO with my mother in her older than dirt AMC Eagle, she was driving..... anyway, seagull bounced off the windshield of a car 3 cars ahead then hit our windshield and hit the car behind us, my mother passed out cold behind the wheel, bumper to bumper at 100kph, i'm glad we were wearing our seatbelts!! we hit the ditch and rolled twice.
my mother came to in the hospital asking "what happened"..... :mad: my concussion lasted 2 weeks :mad:
it all happened so fast too! kinda the same way in the video... you can see it coming but theres nothing you can do about it....
i was like 9 years old at the time and knew nothing about driving so its not like i even thought about grabbing the wheel or anything. |

| Have a little story to add to this. A few years ago I was in my 95 Dakota, and was doing a little wheeling. Pulling back onto the highway by Devon, I saw a magpie fly in front of my truck. Pulled up to lights in leduc, and watched the magpie fly out of the cross im my grill. Bird was slammed against my grill the whole time! |
