| Try to enroll yourself into the program at NAIT, that will definitely help. |

Find a place that hires apprentices and get some menial labour job or something there. I work at Canadian Tire stacking tires and the Service Manager has mentioned more than once that apprenticeship is something they'll definately consider in the not so distant future. Though I doubt I'd be doing much more than oil changes and tire rotations there. |

| you got to start from the bottom and work your way up. i started in the trade as a tire buster at Kal Tire, then i went to chev dealership and worked as a lube tech for a year, they were gonna sign me up but i left to work as a field mechanic, that wasn't where i wanted to be but i gained my apprenticeship and alot of experience. i finally found my dream job at a reputable performance shop and i couldn't be happier. just stick it out, once you have your apprenticeship from any shitty shop your chances of getting hired at a better shop are increased. |
