Favorite Canadian Band? - Click HERE for Original Thread

EK9Hatch
I'm sure there are others on this forum that have a passion for music like myself, and I was curious...Who is your favorite Canadian Band?

I'll go first. For me, hands down....this Man

Matthew Good

In second I would probably have to say The Tragically Hip.

My favorite would be The Tragically Hip. I've really liked Billy Talent since they've come out though, so they may soon replace them!

WorkInProgress
The only thing "Tragic" about "The Hip" is how much they suck.

I liked the first Billy Talent album a lot, but lately these guys have been my favorite Canadian band:

Protest the Hero... after a few listens to this album it really grew on me.

Social Code from right here in Edmonton are a cool band too, they have a new album coming out right away.

How is Matthew Good overrated?

Sure The Tragically Hip are pretty popular (they can pretty much sell out Rexall Place. But outside of Canada, nobody know's who Matthew Good is.

Jamie

E7IXIR

I second the Protest the Hero!!! SO amazing!
I also really dig what the boys in Ten Second Epic are doing, Alexisonfire is great and Wintersleep from just outside of Halifax definately deserve a listen (Eddie Vedder heard seen them and immediately gave them his home phone number to call anytime!)

Because the guy he quoted said its his favorite band hands down, so EK9 said lets them raise their hands(so they wouldn't be down if they are raised), since usually when you agree to something, you raise your hand to show it, kind of a little joke...

You follow now?

Anyone out there into some real (by my standards anyways, lol) music, have a listen to some Cryptopsy. Incredible, and I mean incredible Canadian death metal. As a drummer, I idolize the drummer, Flo Mournier. Have a listen, will blow your mind. Rush is definatly a close second.
