Anyone has any experience or have ever Importing a Modified Car from the USofA.
I'm mostly talking about getting it to past Federal inspection (@ Canadian Tire)
Like if the car was stock with Twin Turbo & was modified with a Single Turbo upgrade, will it or can it past.
or
If the car was N/A & now that the car has a Turbo or Supercharger.
If anyone has done this before could you post or PM me with your experience.
Thx

| Friend of mine in BC brought up a heavily modded Integra. Built motor, turbo kit, the whole 9 yards. Didn't have a problem over there :dunno: |

Yes, you do.
Federal Inspections are contracted by RIV to be done at Canadian Tire.
It's OOPs that can be done elsewhere. |

| The federal inspection is the easier of the 2 inspections you have to get. All they check for in the ferderal inspection is if you have day time running lights and have the child safety restraint somewhere in the car (doesn't have to be installed). |

the federal inspection has to be done at CT. you can get an OOP at most mechanic shops but not a federal one.
edit** didnt see awd reply, but he got the gist of it hah. |

if the car has a salvage title or a rebuilt status title in the states, then they will want it back to 100% oem stock parts
if it has a clean and clear title, then as far as i've been told your good to go |

| When my cousin brought over his Turbonetics 350Z, he didn't have much of a problem at all. It did have a clean title thou. |

READ CAREFULLY, YOU CAN NOT GET A FEDERAL INSPECTION ANYWHERE BUT CANADIAN TIRE, YOU CAN HOWEVER GET OOP's DONE JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE. YOU NEED A FEDERAL INSPECTION TO IMPORT A VEHICLE NOT JUST AN OOP.

| oh i thought he said OOP aha. my bad maybe i should read more carefully. however i still find it hard to believe you had an imported car inspected elsewhere. can you post some proof maybe that will help alot of people |

| When you import a vehicle, you get a sheet with a list of registered inspection agencies for your OOC (federal inspection). I dont have a scanner.... And cannot find my inspection sheet. But take two minutes, and call trailmobile on yellowhead trail, ask them if they do out of country inpections. My car has never been to a canadian tire, and never will. |

They do, that is true. But, that is because canadian tire gives them that extra little $ to not make it easy to find that other places can do the inspection. |
