| I moved here from the east coast 2 years ago and last spring i brought back my project car. It's just a 90 civic that i'm 3/4 done a custom turbo install on and i just don't have the time to or space to get it finished. I need the rad custom fitted, the exhaust welded, and a small patch in the floor welded. I'm looking for a shop, or someone reliable that i can trust to finish this for me for a fair price. Any recommendations would be great. |

Are there really no local performance shops that are able to do anything more than install racing seats and clear taillights out here?
Even if i have to take it to a couple of places i don't care, any recomendations would be great. |

If you are referring to the fair price, i don't mean to imply cheaply. Money is not an issue at this point, however i don't like getting ripped off either.
Or are you just saying that there is nobody around that does quality work? |

Subracing, a sponsor, has a licensed mechanic and has received good reviews on their work.
AFI, a sponsor, has received some good feedback on their work with turbo cars. I don't know if they have a licensed mechanic.
Apex, a sponsor, has received good feedback on their work with turbo cars. I don't know if they have a licensed mechanic.
All three shops also have inhouse dynos - which may be very useful for a custom turbo setup and tuning. |

Awesome, i'll be getting in touch with them for sure. I really appreciate your help, it's hard moving from home and having a huge number of friends/contacts within the industry to being here and knowing nobody. |

Nice work so far.
I used to have a 79' 924 a lonnnnnnnnnnng time ago. Light and nimble little cars.
It will be nice to see one on the road again.
P.S I have a 944 parts car. If you are thinking wide fenders, rear spoiler etc.... |

^^^Thanks! But I'm probably gonna sell it as soon as it's all together, since I'll be going back to Germany this year. I was gonna get a 951 or a 535i last year, but they are all so damn expensive here. Then I came across the Bimmer with a deal I couldn't refuse. I think I might get a 951 as a project sometime, though. :)
Maybe, just maybe, I'll get a 5 bolt converison for it, but yours is probably gone already, like they all are. BTW, since you got a 951, do you hate on toofah's now, like they all say? :D Crossed over to the dark side, heh?
Smokey, you got PM! |
