0-60mph in a Merkur - Click HERE for Original Thread

fugumerkur
I figured my horsepower to be 190 using an equation another merkur enthusiast and I found online.

Its an estimate and not bad seeing as how I am running:
-Stock ecu (175 hp fuel curves)
-Stock fuel pressure
-194 lb fat ass driving
-2 subs and amps
-Stock Vam
and worst of all,
STOCK BOOST!
(oh yeah, this is with winter tires in -15C weather.!) Not excuses, the truth! Variables if you please

Wolfdio
Tune your godamn VAM.

fugumerkur
thats the thing, its goddamn well untuned.! with some screwin around I could get that much more out of it.! BUT WHY, i am getting rid of the VAM altogether.!
:asshole:

No worries though, I will be upgrading soon I dislike the ECU and VAM setup more than you know.

LeadSled
I'll give you points for attempting it in the winter...

Have you had it at the track yet?

fugumerkur
no track yet. I am patiently waiting though.
I would actually prefer to have a timeslip than a video though!

I just have to wait I guess. It will be an interesting year for my car though.

Playa
Ice on road way. Dash speedo proves nothing.

A pinto can do 0-60 in under 6.5 seconds in winter on icy roads. Speedo reads 60 mph, but your true travel speed is not.

Chit man, I once did 140 km/hr in a parking lot gas station Sure I was trying to get up an icy hill and my front tire was flat, it was a RWD car and my true travel speed was 0.00.

Show me something with the background moving.

The engine sounds nice though!

fugumerkur
oh yeah, that reminds me.! That was another performance mod! The 3" exhaust!
Whoops.

Traction was no prob. look at my speedo when I started you can tell I had traction. The asphalt was bone dry.

I found this interesting compilation too.!

0-60mph times for Stock vehicles

The merkur isn't listed but with the 5 spd it had a 0-60 in 7.8 seconds

Nice vid, love the blow off valve!

Here one I did last summer, was 10-60mph cause my drag radials were spinning to much, anyways you can hear the blower start when I get into it at around 5 second mark.

lightning run

Make some more in the summer when ur tunes done.
