stutter issue b16 integra - Click HERE for Original Thread

hammerdown99
so i swaped my b16a into my 90 integra. i have no engine codes coming from the ecu, but when you feather the gas or just tap it. she stutters. i have been battling this problem for a while now .. and i was wondering if anyone else has ran into this ordeal or maybe would have a couple ideas in mind.:dunno:

Ayeso
Check the cap for any moisture what so ever we had the identical issue in a crx and it was the cap was slightly wet inside

ive heard this more with my older engines that run a carb not fuel injection but as stupid as it sounds check ur oil levels. I have heard stuff like that when im low on oil. i also switched to a synthetic oil and havent heard it since.

just something to look at.

Well I would start off with a timing light and a look to see that the crank and cams line up proporly and none have skipped a tooth.
The timeing could be a bit retarded so as you touch the gas it studders till it advances.
Other option that can make it studder is lack of spark/energy from the coil, everything from water to corrosion to even lack of good grounding on the motor can cause crappy spark.
My CRX did this too and it drove me up the wall I checked and tryed everything till one morning I was looking at the rotor and grabed it and with a little shake it wiggled excesivly side to side but was sticky.
The plastic had vibrated enough to make it do that under the little metal screw tab on the rotor and fooled me so keep this in mind too.

i changed spark plugs and rotor i have a lil studder at just above the idle it but runs alot better now but i will use the info and see if i can figure this out....
thanx.......
