Does anyone have experience with either of these electrical cutouts?
The Mccord seems like it is built well - the butterfly welded to the shaft. Qtec seems to be the company that has been around the longest.
What do you guys think? |

I've got Qtec, the butterfly is mounted with screws that have Loctite on them.
So far so good after 2 years of rain, snow and being completely submerged when I launch my dad's boat. It still opens and closes quickly like when it was new too.
I haven't heard anything bad about McCord's either. |

Trev, my Qtec worked flawlessly until I ripped it off putting the colt on a car trailer. Customer service was awesome, they sent me an entire new piece (everything but the switch) for $100 bucks. I was honest with how the failure happened, and the service was good.
I've read some bad about the mccord product, but that was 2-3 years ago when I bought my qtec. |

Thanks guys - I might spring for the Qtec.
I can get it a bit cheaper (Since I've found a used one), and they seem to have more positive about them.
And with that kind of customer service (Practically selling you a whole new unit when it's your fault), you can't go wrong. |
