| So the 6100.. Anyways.. if anyone from Bell see's this or any cops, this is illegal haha. Good luck anyways. |
|

| Ya it's 6100.. why would it be illegal to sell a satellite receiver? |
|

Everything is registered to it's owner. You can only have 6 recievers in your house at one time. If you have a reciever with a built in smart card, not registered to you, that will be running on someone elses system and Bell catches it.
The end. |

Umm being a person who has had his run in's with bell and other satellite carriers in a not so pleasent of a fashion, I can speak from a little bit of experience here.
There is absolutley 100% nothing wrong with selling a reciever to someone else. On board smartcard or not.
Yes the reciever is registered to one individual, however as soon as the person who subs it calls in and cancels the service. It is re usable by anyone. With no issues at all. Aslong as the subscriber left the account with a $0 balabce.
However doing what you spoke of is illegal. What you are tlaking about is what alot and I bet half of the subscribers do.
Its called sub sharing. Of course thats illegal. You are basically then paying for one account and having the potential to have six other families(or households) watching on it.
Oh and as far as when you mentioned bell catching you if you do sub share. Its not ver likely at all Id say about a 0% chance unless you go around telling everyone or bell themselves. Other then that there is absolutley no way they could even know you were doing that.
The recievers are just that"recievers" they recieve info they do not have the ability to send info back. Well thats of course unless your dumb enough to plug the phone line in(in which case you deserve to get caught lol)
I believe he is just straight up tryin to get rid of it. Which is fine, believe me hehe.

I sell bell expressvu.. So I'm not a total newb on the issue, but thanks.
Though I did not mention, that yes, you can cancel the reciever, though I do not know how bell handles that situation, they like to have the product boughten new. Warranty on the reciever is not transferable. |

And you plug into a phone line so you can order movies. Otherwise you don't.
Though you are supposed to. Anyways, I did not bash the sale, just letting the person know that may buy the product. |

Im sorry, I did not mean to imply that in anyway you were a newb.
I was just giving my expertese(sp?) in the subject.
As I stated I do know alot about bell.
As far as transfering they have no issues as long as like I said, it has a $0 balance on it, and the original owner lets them know it was sold(although you can get around that).
Again sorry if you thought I was calling you a newb, but I too was just letting a potential buyer know it is ok.

| Oh haha.. No biggie. My interpretation was not 100%, you corrected it... so now it's more like 99.9% correct with all info haha. |

We cancelled our Bell because we're switching to Shaw. The account has $0 balance and will be transferred over infront of the buyer.
I have talked to Bell and they said this is fine and said there would be no issues transferring the receiver over.
Anyway, looking for any reasonable offer so PM me if you're interested. |
