So i have a 1991 plymouth laser aka Eagle talon with the 2.0 turbo and the check engine light came on. last time it came on it was a blown valve gasket and after i replaced that it was good. now i have no clue what it is. anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Could be a million things. Its hard to say with just that being said. Is it running different, using more oil, more gas. Harder to start cold or warm... anything. Its like seeing a drop of oil on your drive way, then asking where do you think its leaking from ;)

70newport
it seems to be running a little bit richer with gas but other than that nothing really different in the way its running and its still performing about as good as a stock 4g63 can lol

thanks

check for what code is in the computer causing the light to come on then we can give you a little more help

im not too sure what you mean by what code is causing it to turn on. im used to working on old big blocks so i dont do much with computerized engines.

sensors feed the ecu with inputs. if any of these inputs are out of range the ecu puts up the check engine light. scan the ecu and it will tell you what code is thrown and then you can diag from there. a cel will throw the ecu in limp mode retarding timing and increasing fuel.

OK thanks a bunch for the feedback. i dont have the equipment or knowledge to be able to scan my ecu though, obviously i need to stick to my big blocks lol thanks again though
