does any body know of a machine shop that could resurface my turbo manifold? the mani does not sit on block flat gots some leaks can i get that done or should i just send it back?

Use a process called lapping.

It's the most precise way of making a surface extremely flat.

Do it at home with a little bit of elbow grease.

Oh its brand new and its warped?? I would send it back.

General machine shops like the one I work at usually wont touch automotive parts just because of how busy the oil industry is, and other reasons regarding car parts.
Then automotive machine shops from what I gathered at the one I worked at for a while are busy as fuck right now(spring)! So it could be difficult finding one to do it, regardless of how easy it would be.

The lapping is an idea, could take a while. If you did do that, make sure you flip the manifold 180 degrees every once and a while. Everybody has a tendency to push harder with one hand or to one side and eventually you start getting a radius.

It just ensures it comes out square.

I would call around and see if anybody has time to do it though if you dont decide to send it back.

EC automotive should be able to do it

true enough as thats what a gaskets made to do.

EC did my work. I'd do business with them again.

integraboi_00
how long does ec usually take?

NYGACR
Tough to say. Don't expect it to be quick. They were really backed up last year when they did my work, I doubt it's any different right now. Give them a call and speak with Mike, he tends to be more realistic than Hal on time frames (so I've heard anyway). My guess would be a couple weeks. They do good work though.

for something like milling a flange, it shouldnt take more then a few days, but since their backed up right now, expect a week or so. if you get your flange milled before my stuff gets balanced, id be pissed since ive been in line for a few weeks

mikes a good guy to deal with as well as hal, but they let me down last week to get my stuff after they were balanced. apparently 2 weeks wasnt enough time despite them saying itll be ready within a few days from when i gave them the final item.. they are extremely busy right now since one of their guys quit.

Call Dean at Alberta Engine Rebuilders. I dropped off my aluminum head in the morning and got it back freshly milled in a couple of hours. Tell him Gerry recommended you.

Milling a manifold should only take half an hour at most. Its just whether or not they can squeeze it into a free machine.

SRO_firefly1_0
how bad is it warped?

integraboi_00
it was pretty bad, bad enough that ec couldent do it so i ended up taking it to charchun weldin gonna cost like a bill to do

newaccorddriver
charchun welding does good work since they were able to do my crank pulley up nicely for my. as far as EC saying they cant do it, its probably cause they would be taking off way too much material to make it flat

integraboi_00
ya thats wat they said. but good to hear that they do good work..
