My car will not start and i have a feeling i need it to be taken to a mechanic and i don't know of any shops that work on rotary engines. So if anyone knows thats great

your probly look at a week or two wait to get your car into any shop that will deal with your rotary....
whats wrong with it, your better off fixing it yourself. |

Well it was a pretty cold day...
So i started er up and then i reved it a bit more than usual to assist with the warm up. So When i reved down it stayed on for a little then it just kinda died on me. I got it to start that night but it wouldn't stay on without being connected to another battery.
So i think it may be the alternator. |

thats simple to fix if you think its the alternator....
call I@M import parts, its on 117ave and 156 street.
they will have a brand new alternator for you most likely (i just got a brand new starter from them for $145)
make sure it isnt the battery first though. |

its not the battery.
There was something draining my battery.. From the day that it died on me there was something that was draining the battery i found a cord or something and i fixed the battery drainage.. or o thought so i have a new battery in it.
btw i do have an alternator but i picked it up form a pick n pull yard for like $25 so i am not to sure i its going to work
And one more thing... is there any really common minor problems with 1980 rx7's in the winter? |

Try out the alternator you have then and see if it works..... its proboly fine.
there is lots of possible things that go wrong on these cars...
just go to rx7club.com and search for what your experiencing. |

When I owned my RX, nobody but this guy was good enough to touch it. I'm not sure if he is still around but if he is, I would recommend him. He only works on rotary engines. |

No, Carl and RX Heaven went to RX Heaven years ago. He basically disappeared off the face of the planet.
For the last few years he was around, he went by a different name: Mazdicare or something like that. |

it was called "best of mazdicare" I believe, but yeah im not sure what happened to him.... I know he rebuilt the engine and worked countless times on the rx7 I own now from the previous owners receipts. |
