I got thinking, and I know Edmonton has A LOT of people living here that are not originally from Edmonton.
So, where are you from?
I'll start, I moved to Edmonton from Saint John, New Brunswick in July of 2000.

Was born in Abbotsford, BC in 1984. Lived there till 89 and then moved to Edmonton till 92. Moved to Beaumont till Jan.07 then i moved back into Edmonton.
I'll be moving back to BC at some point. I dislike the Alberta weather, dry air, shitty roads and the fact that edmonton is pretty much a farmers field with a ditch in the middle of it(river valley). |

| Born here. Lived in Sherwood Park till I was 10 (94). Moved to Calgary for 4 months. Moved to PEI for 2.5 years because the old man was an engineer building the Confederation Bridge. Moved back to the westend of Edmonton when I was 14 (97). Parents built a house in St. Albert and moved there in 2000. Moved out downtown on my own in 05 at the age of 21 and have been living with a roommate ever since. |

That must have been boring eh? I LOVE P.E.I. to visit on vacation in the summer (its so relaxing and laid back I find) But I wouldn't want to live there.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Its such a diferent way of life especially compared to here. I wouldnt want to live there just because of the fact that I am a type of person who lives on adrenaline. A vacation is definatly something I would recomend to anyone wanting a relaxing time away from stress and from what we call a normal life. |

Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, raised in Newtown, Guysborough Co., moved to Edmonton at 19 (1998), home again (1999), moved to Edmonton with my fiancee at 22 (2001), and in 2006 we moved back home to St. Andrews in Antigonish Co. My wife and I bought a house in Goshen, so we'll be living in a villiage in Guysborough Co. again, come July.
I polled as FA, since this thread pertains to Edmonton.
I feel the opposite of silvia s13. I find the city life has TOO much adrenaline going on. The peacefull east calming my soul down, after riling it up for six years. ;) I would expect the same for anyone who grew up in the woods, 40min from the nearest town (of under 5000). Still, there are a lot of things I miss about the city. Mostly the cars (but not the drivers) and access to great shops. Oh, the wages were alright too. :)

Raised in southern Ontario, Niagara Falls, Welland, St Catharines, Hamilton and T.O.
moved to edmonton, then back to Ontario, then to Caracas, Venezuela for 6 months, then to Trinidad and Tobago for another 6 months
then out to Victoria, then Vancouver, then back to edmonton.
Next it's to the mountains in B.C. :thumbup: and that's where I will stay.... Maybe.... We have also been considering moving to Panama... $35/foot average home construction costs and no taxes for 15 years..... always nice weather and I would be able to use the spanish I learned yet never used...... I think I'd need to relearn all over again.
Only time will tell.....

I forgot to add that I was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba....then moved to Saint John, New Brunswick when I was 6 months old. My parents and all my family were from N.B. My dad moved to Flin Flon to work in the mines.
I think its hilarious that the Canadian government grows weed in Flin Flon now. :lol:

I thought they scrapped that due to poor seed quality? I guess they got their seeds from the DEA but they could not confirm strains nor potency, thereby skewing their results...
AND they refused to buy and/or accept good/known strain/potency from local (West Coast suppliers)
I do know that people on the MedPot Plan are still getting their stashes... but it's like the worst kinda grass.... stocks/stems and seeds all pre-rolled... What they call "Headache Weed"
I know this because a close friend of ours has her exemption....
