Turbo Question - Click HERE for Original Thread

Altezza
Im trying to help a friend take apart the turbo to clean it. Now how do you take the blades out? On one end its a 14mm and on the other it looks to be a 8mm. And the turbo is from a SR20 factory turbo.
I dont know much about turbos so dont flame me for not knowing.

You can remove the CHRA from the housing, but do not disassemble the CHRA. If you do you'd need to send it in somewhere to get rebalanced.

Altezza
The problem is that there is oil in the turbo. So it needs to be cleaned out. What does CHRA mean? Compressor Housing R A? sorry dont know all the tech terms.

RA = Rotating assembly ?

Don't take that shit apart. Use a degreaser thats safe on rubber to clean it out, and rinse it will right away with water.

Yeah thats what we did we just went to Can Tire and bought some degreaser then rinsed it. Then used a air hose to dry it all out. It seems to be pretty clean now :thumbup:
