If ANYONE out there can give me any ideas on my issue, please let me hear them because i am almost desperate
so my problem is that my car runs fine and everything, smooth as a baby's bottom......except for the starting! i put the clutch down turn th key like i'm suppose to. it turns over and engages BUT very shortly after it engages, it makes a loud (from the outside, but if you're inside, its not as loud) whining sound, as if teeth of some gear are being eaten away. my prediction is that my flywheel is worn, but it is expensive to replace!
i NEED ideas so i can confirm what the problem with my car is. i'm trying to save time and money!!
anything PLEASE help |

| Sounds like your starter isn't disengaging quick enough and being still engaged is being over revved by your engine. New starter would fix it, could also try and give the starter itself a whack with a hammer, sometimes works. |

yep, new starter... actually, my remote starter unit went bad, and then it was like it would hold the key in the crank position for like 30 seconds even after the engine was turning over on it's own, and the noise was similar to yours.
a month late the starter started to die, and then it died, at part source, just when we were gonna go home to change it.. so.. I changed it in the parking lot :D but yeah, starter, try that first before you dish out for a new flywheel. |
