i just want the lanyard lol my stereo sucks!

kwgreer
yes, this event is for all cars with a stereo. some people have even competed with a stock stereo before. Not only are new guys appreciated, but are encouraged to come out and compete, it would be awesome if you guys could make it. There is a special class we do called "mini street" that people new to competing will be placed in

omniman69

What is the difference between db drag and bass race I have always wanted to join but never have. I have never been to this event but have been to many summer thunders. Just curious what the difference in the classes is so I know what to join?

Db drag is a head to head format of SPL competition, first everyone qualifys with a score, next people are matched up and must go against eachother, The louder person advances to the next round against someone else, until the final round, so if there is 8 people in one class you can go end up getting 4 runs on the mic if you make it to the final elimination round. Classes are determined on the equipment in your car.

Bass Race is much like bracket racing. You must play a commercially availible CD for 30 seconds straight and the meter averages your SPL over 30 seconds. So you want a song with heavy bass and little to no pauses. To be successfull in this format you must not go over your bracket. The classes are 119.9db and under, 120-129.9db, 130-139.9db, 140-149.9db, 150-159.9db and 160+db. Your class will be determined after your qualifying run. There are no equipment regulations other then all gear must be mounted behind the B-Pillar, or under a front seat for amps.

To read up on the rules and classes in either format go to www.termpro.com

it is free for anyone who wants to come and watch, but like I just said it is really fun to compete and we will be having a Mini Street Class for all new competitors to go against eachother in.

The Daver
I still dont really understand so for qualifyin you wouldnt want to be that loud so you could beat the others at a later time:dunno: what is this mini street how does that work?

AdamP
I've been out of the car audio loop for a few years now. I got a couple of 18" Beyond Audio Inhumans which are configured in quad coil. What are the rules regarding QVCs nowadays?

Yes, some competitors dont go full out in qualifying. Mini street is an class for all new competitors, no equipment restrictions unless the judges feel that the competitor has their vehicle set up in a way that someone new to the sport would not have

Hey Adam, This is kyle, talked to you at that one meet at west ed, I was the guy with the explorer. An 18" inhuman would put you in street C class or higher, depending if your box is above the window line or not. For Qual Voice Coil subs, you must wire it as if it were 2 dual voice coil subs, if you are using more then one amp. Example: Your inhuman is quad 4 ohm coil, and you want to use 2 Crossfire VR-1000d's for amps, You would have to wire 2 coils to one amp, and 2 to the other, Giving you a 4 ohm load on each amp.

Im in for sure... I'll be there..

The Daver
Ya Im in Ill just show up and go with the flow

AdamP
That's cool. I'm a bit busy with school until the last exam on the 25th.

I think I can get something decent put together (Single 18" Inhuman, 2 BMF1000d's, SQL port). I'd maybe go for an SPL tune but I think that requires a little more effort as I don't know anybody around me that has a Termpro readily available to do a few burps. I used to visit Martin who had a Termpro setup (he had this gay purple Escort: used to run 2 15 EDs before he went to a 2x15" wall (forget the brand but I think they were CF XTFs).

Bitskyline
i should really get a system in my car....

If you need any help, get my number from shawn. Martian doesnt have his mic anymore, but I have one.

g-force
Can I get a tuning too?

kwgreer
I would offer to bring a mic to a local import meet you guys have every friday at united cycle or wherever if there was enough people interested, but I do not have the self powered usb one, so I would need 2 power outlets, one for the laptop, and one for the mic.

Timmie_G
