Well well well... looks like i finally caved in and came over to see what this place is like.

some may know me others may wounder how many times i was dropped on my head as a child.

Names Tyler. I drive a 2006 SS S/C Cobalt with issues... speed issues that is... also tranny issues yet again. lol Seams my syncro is fubarded. lol

I also go by some of these other screan names. 85chevy, slamedham, cavalier chunk, chunkedz24, and ol' blue.

I drive an international for work. i drill holes and locate water for rural, residential, and industrial applications. Atleast i get the crappeist rig in my shop... just broke my top drive cable on friday the 13th... :asshole: lol that day is BAD LUCK i swear.

oh and heres a brief history of my rides.
(first to last)
1998 chevy lumina 4 door LT... dented hood and dented rear doors
1990 Z-24 3.1 5spd... 16's, underglow, dynomax, K&N, Taylor plug wires, tint and full custome stereo

1985 Chevy K-20(project)... 3.5" ligt, 31's, custome whinch bumper, going onto my 3rd 350 in the last year, SM465 and NV 208. currently building a 383 for later this summer and sving for a 6" with 35's or 38s

Current DD 2006 SS S/C 2.0L with the screamer. :D 3" pully, 42.5lb inj still in box and cold air still in box. lol Brand new tranny at 27,000km. syncro gone at 32,000. lol yay gm. lol


any how time for me to go install my CAI. lol

oh and some of you saw me last night... i know you we're haten. lol

lol Gm fucked my tranny and syncro. the did not use the "special tool" when they blead my clutch... plus they dented my left fender...:mad:

its the fact that gm put horrible parts into our cars and won't confess to it. i know how to drive a standard. my work truck is a bloody 5 spd split with air brakes. so its not that i can't drive a stick. its the fact that they give you 205hp stock and then they give you a tranny that needs to be treated like a 1 month old baby.

there good cars but gm fucked up on a couple components, the only reason why his 1st tranny went was cuz i think his car was built on a friday, the axle was machined wrong, so it caused it to jam in the tranny, so they replaced it, now they put a new tranny in and it grinds 3rd gear since 2nd day of having it in, but the good news, his car should run about 240 hp to 250 after i get some more parts installed on his car and tuned properly good old hptuners

If you don't want similar issues with the truck, try finding a bigger rear than 6". And no timex rears, if you can help it. A 383 will torque those little gears to pieces.

oh and when i said 6" i ment a 6" lift. i will not go bigger then that. its not needed

Okay. I think that when we are speaking about destroying synchros on a newer car, we can generalize that there has been some poor driving techniques.

As much fun as it is to rag on GM, and their shitty repairs, I'd bet a bunch to say that he looooved to powershift his new super-fast car.

Also, what the hell is a split 5-speed?

Some heavy trucks have gear splitters (kind of like an overdrive unit, but manualy shifted).

i power shift in my rig though. and yeah its mainly saying that i have a 10spd tranny. 5spd split=10spd. lol

It's called a 10 speed. You have a range selector, if you had a splitter as well, it would be called a 13-speed or an 18-speed, or sometimes 9 or 15, but those trannys are getting rare.

And if it is a 10 speed in an International it doesn't have synchros, which would make powershifting a little hard, seeing as you can't rev-match with your foot to the floor.

Or your on truckersreport.com complaining about how your transmission is fucked and your u-joints only last 100,000 km :lol:

lol i never had probs powershifting in the int. lol yeah i guess its just a 10spd. lol with a high and low range selector.
