Tuning run/ Porche Carrera story - Click HERE for Original Thread

TurboBlueNX
So I'm out driving tonight doing a few tuning runs with my buddy monitoring my gauges for me.
Now that my manifold is leak free, my duty cycle for my boost controller is all wrong, I've been consistantly rocketing up to .98 kgf/square cm (13+ PSI) at the .65 kgf (10PSI) setting. I'm think I should set this correctly.
I pass this guy driving a silver Porche Carrera at a leisurely pace 67kms/h. I didn't mean anything by it.
I signal to go into the left lane to go around a minivan, then I see the xenon headlights run right upto my ass and he's gating me pretty badly while I'm adjusting the duty on my boost controller.
He makes a move on my right I quickly forget the boost controller as he gets about a fender ahead of me. Drop down to 2nd and punch it. I quickly make up the fender distance and we're neck and neck, I see he keeps looking over his shoulder half expecting me to be behind him, sorry man, I'm right next to you.
I let off the gass after tearing down 137ave from 97st to 82st and turn left on 82nd. That's enough fun for one day.
I look down and see that I accidently selected boost setting "B" with no duty cycle set (I haven't set the "B" setting to anything yet). My peak hold displayed a .73 kgf/square (10.38 PSI) at the wrong duty cycle. ####.
Had left it in setting "A" I would've had a better chance at .65 kgf, than my screwed up boost setting "B"
Now. Is everyone who drives a Carrera a cocky sumbitch?, they must be. What they don't realise is that a Carrera isn't that fast. I didn't intend anything by passing him, sheesh what's up his ass?.

well, those people are pretty much the same as the domestic guys, they think that imports are useless until they get beat by one.

TurboBlueNX
Aah, I see...

Not all drivers of expensive cars are like that. The thing is the people who can afford them don't know much about cars or the cars they drive in the first place, so they think that spending 100K on their car instantly makes it faster then your car. These people are basically talentless morons with lots of money. The core guys that drive expensive cars, the guys that take their cars to the track (such as the forum posters on NSX prime), seem pretty aware of other cars.

I hear most of the guys who drive Porsches lease them anyways. Frick, big deal.

TurboBlueNX
Bah, I'll get 'em... all of them
Speaking of NSX's I heard the Guy running the Bimmer and NSX at the Battle of the Imports was dissallowed from continuing because he has shorts on... But the guy who won my class (Pro Import Outlaw) was wearing shorts?!...
Bah, they all need to take their heads out of their asses...
