Never been to a 780 meet before, but i was just wondering if i should bring my car out, or will i get laughed away aha.
Its an 86 MR2 NA, rough shape, front bumper is currently ripped off (fixing right now) and the side skirts and rear bumper are almost falling off (Guy put them on with bondo) the paint is chipped/faded everywhere (im guessing it was a $400 maaco job)
Heres a picture but it doesnt show you how bad it really is.

Anyways just wondering what it would be like, im not exactly the most outgoing person so it will probably be kinda awkward.
How were your guys' first time out to a meet? |

| I'm sure everyone is friendly, so you shouldn't have a problem, everyone is there for a reason, they're all car enthusiasts. So I don't think it really matters what you drive IMO. |

I wouldn't be too worried, that's actually a pretty decent looking deuce.
Not everyone at these meets is driving new, expensive cars. Just walk around, check out a few cars, maybe ask some questions.
The one thing that I think usually works is to pop your hood and usually a few people will stroll over to take a peek and ask you a few questions. |

The first time i showed up to a meet i was driving this and got along with everyone just fine, you've got nothing to worry about.

| It's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car. |

| You had better come out, we really need more old school Toyota representation. Especially more of the "real" MR2's. |

| 84-89 are the best MR2 made to date. Lightest & handles like a dream. They also look the best too. Personal opinion of course. |

x2 could use a bit of a power boost though. Turbo 20v would be about right....
Seriously, though. Come on out. If nothing else, one of us other AW11 guys will come over and say hi.
Didn't see you this weekend, maybe next weekend? I probably won't be around, but huntsean said tonight he will be.
We're both good people, you'll be fine. |

The original MR2's boxy look is most definitely not for everyone, but when it was new it had quite a futuristic look. To me it still does. It's my favourite car hands down. Nothing against the next generation, they have a nice look too. More rounded & still unique.
As for MR2's, if they aren't near mint when you buy them, they've all been through "some rough stuff." Mine included. Look for low mileage, do a Carfax & check out the body. Go for a test ride & know what to look for. |

he was trying to call me out, then backed down once i got out twice. the guy just wasn't very smart a)calling out the wrong guy b) blocking josh's car in. either way my blood pressure is back down and its all good now. |
