anyone seen this duece around?? - Click HERE for Original Thread

RDS Celica
Tonight I went out for dinner with my girlfriend to East Side Marios in Sherwood Park and when we came out there was a white mkII mr2 turbo with the full TRD widebody kit, 18" volk GT-Cs (with some serious deep dish on the rear  ) and red sparco torinos parked next to my duece. Anyways, this car was pretty amazing (and i got shown up pretty bad haha) and was just wondering If you guys have seen it around. I have no idea what that guy was doing in sherwood park because Ive never seen it before and I know that Im the only turbo one in SP so he must be from edmonton or something. Anyways, its a NICE car, if you look close tho you can see all the imperfections in the paint and the install of the kit but like it still is an amazing mr2.

Oh ya and I got my a-pillar and my gauges installed today! It looks really sweet and I found out im running 10 psi for stock boost :D . I thought something might be messed up with my wastegate or something in order to be running that high but apparently stock boost is anywhere from 7-11.8 psi depending on your elevation. So looks like this week Ill be running 12 psi for sure and mabey 14 if I can find a FCD for cheap!

Is it this one??? it was at emda... nice lookin car, the body kit looks like it's "stock"

RDS Celica
no man this one was white and it had the TRD wing (not the big aluminum one) and had volk GT-C rims (those ones on the silver one are GT-Ps). But that silver one is phat as hell too!

redbaron303
I didn't even see the "white" in there :(

Oh well.... that's the only done up Mr2 that I've seen recently.

ALIAS81

what can i say but dammmmm i love that year mr2. such smooth lines, by the way how much power can a modded(not crazy modded) mr2 turbo put to the wheels? One day i'll have a 02 turbo mr2 to go along with my FD i've been dreaming about for about 4 years!

There are quite a few people on the mr2faq.com board that have un-opened engines with over 300 and 400 HP at the wheels. The most common turbo upgrade (and the one im probably going to get too) is the greddy td06 and that will get you anywhere from 300 to 400+ at the wheels depending on how much boost you run and your supporting mods. The 3sgte has been proven to handle 400 HP on stock internals, its basically the little brother of the 2jzgte (mk4 supra TT) and everyone knows how much HP the stock internals on that thing can handle B) .

02sir - I say it looks "stock" (notice quote marks) b/c that kit is molded on so well that you don't see the lines and it looks like it belongs!

300+ rwhp outta one of those things eh.... too bad you can't get two ppl and an ounce of luggage in one of those :(

No way man. Ask anyone who has an MR2 or who has driven in one. They look small on the outside but the interior is very comfortable. Everything holds you in and wraps around you like a cockpit B) .

You like that don't you... :D

haha

I've driven one of the old school ones and I did enjoy it. I just find it too impractical for my needs, I still like to put my golf clubs in the back of the car or take a passenger and some luggage...

So yes they're a good car and serve their purpose well, they just don't serve my purpose as best as they could.

RDS - a suggestion, I'm not such a fan of your rims... hav eyou thought about white or gunmetals??? prob. gun metal would work better.

RDS Celica
Hey Im not a fan of my rims either! :D I bought the car like that and as soon as I sell my celica in getting 17" 5 zigen M-05s in white or else mabey ADR sokudos in sliver or gunmetal but Im trying to find out how much they weigh before I make my decision.

Tao
you'd be suprised how much luggage it can fit. I can fit a whole hockey bag in my trunk.

TRoY
I saw that mr2 the other day near south common soooooo nice asian guy driving it with a hot asian girl in it to :D

stealth
If its the one ur talkin about that guy parks infront of my house when hes at my neighbours cause they are friends, are the imperfections little pink spots? I live in clareview and always cehck the car out when its infront of my place and it also is a turbo and yea its a asian guy who owns it.

SplineZ
.. There is an INSANE mk2mr2 that parks near petsmart at WEM. It has a wide body kit, volk wheels (i think), a large wing, and it looks damn sweet.. That car is the bomb :)

You guys know him too? Maybe ill grab a pic if i see it there.. i dont often carry my digital camera around..

do MR2's have a rear trunk? I can fit a golf bag in my car im sure (i havent tried, and its not an mr2)

Whats it like under the front hood?

JZ

RDS Celica
ya they got a frunk and a trunk. The spare tire is in the frunk but you can still put stuff on top of it. Apparently you can fit 2 golf bags in the trunk. I havent tried tho personally haha :D .

No like the imperfections are just like cracks in places and overspray and stuff just doesn't line up properly. But like with a kit like the TRD one, unless your paying close to $10,000 for the install + paint job then there are going to be problems. f@ck tho he has nice seats and rims!!!

ALIAS81
spinez-that mr2 you described is actually on the first page of this post. he works at high grade. hes a nice guy to talk to.

Wow, maybe I should get a job there so I could get a car like that :)

RDS - two golf bags in the trunk eh.... :) That's something I'll have to see w/ my own eyes sometime... and i did not know they had the trunk too, I thought it was just the storage space under the bonnet no boot :) haha (the british in us all)!

i thought the body kit looked a bit different.. guess not :)

I know in my mk1 I fitted 1 golf bag perfectly. The trunk in the mk2 is bigger but I don't think it would fit 2 golf bags. Theres more enough cargo space in a mr2 for most people.

The guy who drives the silver TRD widebody is Saung. Spelling ? His car use to be a black with a Toms kit.

redbaron303
I think I saw that white MR2 you ppl are talking about... there was one over by the football stadium in etown tonight. Nicely done up w/ white rims and a simple kit.
